🍓Chapter Twenty Four: Results🍓🍓Strawberry Sweet🍓
No sound had been heard except for the soft sound of wind blowing against the cracks in the windows to match the empty sounds of the house.
Pipes creaking and rain falling is all that ever seemed to play on the soundtrack of the houses noises.
I couldn't help but want to cuddle with Drake. After Saturday I was addicted. Hooked like a pill popping junkie. He was a drug. I'll admit. It has been 20 minutes since the usual Skype call had ended and Drake had still not called me.
So here I lay. Waiting in bed for the blaring sound of my phone to break the silence. And for all of this waiting I still am not rewarded with a call.
My ears fixed on the sound of nothingness seem to be on edge craving just one single beat of that ringtone.
When is he going to call already?
I close my eyes and my memory floods back to last Monday after school.
After my routine the room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. It seemed like an eternity before anything broke the dead silence in the room. The clapping of students from the bleachers had roared through the room like a lion and its pride.
Everyone had been cheering for me. Clapping in unison and sportsmen ship. Although it had all come to an end due to the red head cheer captain.
"Enough!" She had shouted. I waited with batted breath to hear the results of my performance.
"Delaware..." a single bead of sweat rolls down my forehead. "I suppose you're good enough to join the team," I smile feeling triumphant. "However," she tells me. And that's when the dread starts to sink in. "You screw up, even one time, and your off of the team. Understood?" She Asks. I nod.
One of the other cheerleaders gets out of her chair and hands me a maroon and black colored skirt and v-neck top. "Welcome to the WRH cheer team" she whispers to me with a smile.
Once again the clapping and signs of approval sound off again and people make their way down the bleachers to congratulate me.
My thoughts are cut short when the sound of my phone erupts from beside me. I pick it up and slide the green icon to the right.
"Hello?" I ask, although I know that it's Drake, I still feel the need to ask.
"Hey baby" he greets me.
"What took you so long? The call ended about an hour ag-" I stop mid sentence. "Did you just call me baby?" I ask.
"Oh, sorry. It kinda just slipped out" he apologizes.
"That's okay..." I trail. I clutch the phone speaker and pull it away from my mouth.
I let out a squeal of exitement.
"Princess?" He asks when I put the phone back to my ear.
"I'm sorry what?"
"I asked you if the math homework..." slowly I begin to tune him out.
"Drake?" I call out into the speaker of the phone and place the receiving end closer to my ear. "Do you wanna come over?" I ask.
"Right now?"
"Right now." I confirm.
"I'll be over in 10 blue eyes" and just like that, the call had ended with a single click.
