I flash open my eyes quickly and panicked. I look a round and sigh of relief- every night when I go to sleep I can't expresses how terrified I am that I might wake up in grey clothes and all of this has been nothing but a dream.

"Bad dream?" I hear a male voice say.

"No, who even are you?" I ask the boy who look slightly younger than myself.

"I'm Liam" he says.

"Jack's brother by any chance?" I ask.

He nods.

"Speaking of him where is he?" I ask quietly.

"Dunno he went somewhere with ed" Liam says shrugging.

"Great" I sigh tensing as my chest muscles clench.

"Are you okay?" he asks.

"Fantastic" I say wincing.

"Who did this?!" Tris says walking out of another room probably hearing us talking.

"Eva, a couple of the candor and the other erudite" I say getting a blinding headache.

"Happens every year!" she says sighing.

****

I walk into the pit and see Andrew prior signalling me over. thank god it isn't Marcus!

"What are you doing here prior?" I ask rolling my eyes.

"Your father was busy and sent me to see how you are doing in initiation" Andrew says.

"Firstly never call him my father! he a psychotic bastard! secondly why would he care how I'm doing here?!" I say annoyed.

"He is your father and he cares about you, firstly what happened to your face, he might want to know about that?" Andrew continues.

"He's fooling you by making you think he actually cares!" I say angrily.

"The door is over there prior, use it!" I say loudly.

"Dad!" I hear tris shout running over.

"What are you doing here?" she asks.

"I came to have a word with Annabelle here as her father is busy" he says.

"Jesus Christ. LEAVE! my name is Annie!" I say getting more annoyed and angry.

He puts a note in my hand before walking off.

I skim it.

"Andrew wait!" I call after him.

He turns . "what?" he asks.

"Is this note true?" I ask accusingly.

He nods.

"Your saying my own mother is alive?" I ask angrily.

He nods again.

"Where is she?" I ask pulling on my leather jacket I was carrying.

"Factionless" he says.

"Okay, thanks for the help" I say running out.

Tris senses what I'm about to do and runs after me. I'm quicker and jump into the last carriage before she can.

The train blares past her but I know she will follow on the train after this one!

I jump of the train and run into the main factionless building.

I walk up to the desk angrily.

"WHERE IS EVELYN EATON?" I shout at the lady at the desk.

"Oh how wonderful, I see you got my note Annabelle" I hear a womanly voice behind me.

I turn and see her piercing face.

She tries to pull me into a hug but I punch her and am held back by four factionless.

"YOU FAKED YOUR DEATH AND LEFT ME WITH MARCUS! YOU RUINED ME! EVERY NIGHT IM STILL WAKING UP IN FITS THINKING I WILL AWAKE IN ABNEGATION! EVERYDAY MY MEMORIES ARE DRIVING ME MORE CRAZY! THIS IS YOUR FAULT!" I shout at her blood boiling. I jump and stamp on the feet of the people holding me. I summersault backwards breaking the hold of the people still grabbing me.

"Let's have a civilised conversation about this-" she starts.

"REALLY? WHY ARE YOU SUDDENLY CARING?! YOU WANT SOMETHING! YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ME ONE BIT! YOU LEFT ME DEFENCELESS AGAINST MARCUS ANS HIS FUCKING BEATINGS SINCE I WAS FIVE! I STILL DONT FEEL SAFE AND I SWEAR TO GOD IF I EVER GET THE CHANCE TO KILL YOU I WILL!" I shout walking out the building.

"BYE MOTHER DEREST!" I scream sarcastically as I walk down the stairs.

I run to the tracks and jump onto a train.

***

I jump off by the dauntless stairs and see four at the door next to tris.

"Where were you?" tris asks arm crossed.

"Why does it matter?" I ask angrily as four won't let me pass the door.

"Your not allowed to leave the compound without supervision, where were you?!" tris persists.

"It doesn't concern you were I was!" I say loudly blood starting to boil.

"As a faction leader it very much concerns me!" she says raising her voice.

"If you must know Prior came here to tell me that my mother was alive. My self centred, bastard of a father didn't think it was important enough, to come and tell me in person so he sent his slave along to do his dirty work." I say sighing.

"My dad is a slave to no one! except maybe my mother" she says chuckling.
