"So, what's the plan again?" I ask

"We'll go and see a movie and then we can go for coffee or something after it." Tord reassures me squeezing my shoulder.

"Okay," I sigh lightly, "um... I'm kinda terrible with horrors though."

"You can squeeze my hand if you need to." Tord laughs, shooting me a quick snarky glance

"Oh shut up!" I punch his arm lightly; more nudging him than anything. Tord simply replies with another laugh.

We stand in line to get out tickets for the movie. It was the typical haunted house horror movie but I was pretty bad when it came to tense jump scares. I was fine with gore, honestly I like gorey movies like fight club or se7en, it's just the suspense that I hate.
We payed for the tickets finally and went inside, the smell of buttery popcorn and other assorted confectionary filled the room. People milled about everywhere, some wearing those weird 3D glasses and others wearing movie merchandise.

"I wonder how busy it'll be." Tord question referring to how busy the cinema was.

I shrug, "dunno but it starts in like 5 minutes so do you wanna like grab some popcorn and head in?"

He nods and we make our way to the shortest line for popcorn which only too a minute or so to get through; rather lucky considering the usual wait times.
We got a bucket to share; I wasn't a really big snacker so we didn't get a big one. It wasn't that much since we both pitched in for it, I wanted to pay the full thing but Tord wouldn't let me, so that was the compromise.
Soon enough we were in our seats watching the movie, I had been dreading it a bit but maybe it wouldn't be so bad in a cinema.
—————

I was wrong, it was much worse in a cinema. I ended up sitting with my knees to my chest, my heart raced like a car and I could barely catch my breath. I could tell Tord was chuckling away to himself next to me. He seemed to be really enjoying the movie which kinda kept me going.
I went to grab a couple pieces of popcorn but Tord must have had the same idea. Our hands brushed together causing us to both panic and pull away. I'm so lucky the room was dark or you would be able to tell how flustered I was. It kinda bugged me how bad I was with touch. Even the simplest contact made me flustered because I barely get any physical contact with anyone. I wish I wasn't like that, it made me seem like I had some sort of childish crush on Tord.

The movie was close to finishing, everyone but the main character was dead, and the ghost was coming after her now. I already knew she was going to die so the scary factor of it was lessened, luckily.
Just as suspected she died and the movie ended. Everyone flooded from the room, many different conversations and discussions could be heard throughout the crowd. It was a nice atmosphere.

"You looked like you were shitting yourself the whole way through that." Tord laughed, binning the empty popcorn container.

"Not possible, I was too tense to." I joked back

"Well I don't know about you but I could use a drink to calm down a bit." Tord hinted, over emphasising a wink at me

"Stop," I laughed, "let's go."

We exited the warm building, the crisp evening air caressed my face gently. It was still light out since it was summer time which kind of messed with my senses. The walk to our favourite coffee shop was short, it only took about 5 minutes to get there but it was a good feeling being back after about 2 weeks. The smell of coffee welcomed me like an old friend.

"Ah Tom! Was wondering when you were gonna show up!"

"Edd! You're back! How was the honeymoon?" I leaned over the counter greeting the brunette.

"It was amazing, sucks to be back," he pauses and I can tell he's spotted Tord, "who's the friend? Never seen him about."

"Uh this is Tord, he's kinda new about here." Tord waved shyly but with a sweet smile

"Are you two like..?" He waves a finger back and forth between us

"Ew no! We're just friends." I could feel my cheeks heat up slightly

"Yeah just friends." Tord added

"Oh accent! Where you from?" Edd asked, he always was super forward with questions.

"Norway!" Tord replied happily

"Cool, bit far from home," Edd chuckled a bit and Tord agreed, "anyway can I get you guys some drinks?"

We ordered and made our way to the same table we first went to. The shop was pretty much empty, not a lot of people came by at this time of night but it was open late for those who did want to come in; like myself.

"I had a really nice night. Thanks for bringing me." I thanked Tord, sipping my drink.

"It was my pleasure!" We sat in idle comfortable silence, enjoying one another and the calm atmosphere.

The situation with Edd lingered in my head, just friends. I had only known tord for a little over 2 weeks, we'd already gotten close but I still didn't trust him enough to completely open up; he knows about the trust issues but that's not exactly hard to see. He was a nice guy though, and he was pretty attractive, I mean as far as men go, and I was a bit of a sucker for brown eyes so that probably wasn't helping.

"You're staring at me again." Tord spoke up bluntly, pulling me out of my trance.

"Oh sorry, I don't mean to." I rubbed my face, waking myself up

"It's fine," he looked down at his hands somewhat nervously, "um I know you're probably sick of me already but, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go with me to the fair. I saw a poster for it today before we met up an, well it looked fun." He twiddled with his thumbs nervously like a young child

"What are you talking about? I'd love to go! I get off work at 3 tomorrow, we could maybe meet around 5?"

"That works!" Tord had perked up a bit more, He was such a happy guy you'd think it was impossible for him to get happier.

"Can't wait!" I chirped

"Me either!"
