Chapter 9

(The day of the date)

Sophie's POV

I was getting ready to go to Everglen for Biana to get me ready for my date with Fitz. I still can't believe he asked me out. I mean it is the Fitz Vacker. I told Edaline that I was leaving and headed up to the leapmaster. "Everglen!"I said and a crystal spiraled down, casting a beam of light. Then I let the light carry me away to the Vacker's house.

I stood outside the shining gates of Everglen and waited for Biana to open the gates. When she came she said,"Come on, we don't have much time. I'm doing both you and my brother." With that she dragged me up to her room. She pointed to a chair that was at her vanity. I sat down and she stared to put makeup on me.

"So...are you excited about your date?" asked Biana

"Well, yes but at the same time I'm nervous."

"What? This is my brother that you are scared to go on a date with? The one who has fought beside you?" she asked

"Yes..." I answered

"Well I don't get it. You guys have been crushing on each other since you met. There is nothing to be scared about," she told me.

"Ok," I said believing her.

"Take this," she said handing me an elixir,"it will make your face all glowy. Wait here and don't move. I have to go to Fitz." She left the room.

Fitz's POV

I was sitting on my bed and then Biana came in and tore through my closet.

"Biana, what are you doing?" I asked her

"Finding an outfit for you." she told me. "It has to be comfortable and good looking."

She finally picked out an outfit. (Below)

"I have to go to Sophie now" and she left the room. I thought about how nervous I was to be going on a date with the Sophie Foster.

Sophie's POV

Biana came back into the room and started doing what I thought was eye shadow.

"What are you doing?" I asked her.

"I'm putting on gold eye shadow and then I'll do a little blush and some lip gloss. I thought that you wouldn't want me to do that much makeup."

Soon after she said that, she was done with my makeup and was off to pick out a dress.

"This one," said Biana, coming out of the closet holding a white dress. (Below)

After I changed into the white dress that was surprisingly comfortable, Biana said, "Time to do hair."

When she was done with my hair she turned me around to see her work,"Do you like it?"

"Yes! It is beautiful!" I said

"I'm going to go do Fitz's hair now. I'll be right back." said Biana

Fitz's POV

Biana came into my room again and told me to go to my bathroom counter. There she did my hair in spikes up.

"Thanks, Biana" I said when she was done. "I don't know what I would do without you."

"Your welcome Fitz, but you better not hurt Sophie or else you will regret it." she told me.

"I promise I will never let anything happen to her."

"Come with me, it's time for you to take Sophie on her date with you." she said.

We walked down the hall and she told me to stand at the end of the stairs. "Also you might want to be ready to catch her, because knowing Sophie she will probably fall."

I laughed at that because Sophie usually does fall and went down the stairs and stood at the bottom of them, waiting for Sophie.

Sophie's POV

Biana came back in and said "I forgot to find you shoes and Fitz is downstairs!" She went into her closet and came out with tan flats. "Put these on."

(Pretend they are for Sophie's size)

I put the shoes on and went downstairs. I saw Fitz waiting there. I still tripped on the last step and fell into Fitz's muscular arms. He pulled me up and then kissed me. When we broke apart he told me,"You look amazing."

"You look good too," I said.

"Are you ready to go?" he asked me.

"Only if you are" I answered.

He put his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. I no longer felt scared because I felt comforted and safe in his arms. He held up a crystal and left the light sweep us away to our date.
