Chapter 15

Fitz opened it and read aloud," you have been invited to a ball tonight, at the destination of the crystal that has been provided."

"Well we are already pretty fancy, so let's go," said Linh.

"Okay," everyone agreed.

Biana POV

Fitz holds up the crystal to the light and steps into it. When we arrive at the ballroom, we take a look around the room. It was amazingly decorated! It has a nice and big area of dancing and had tables off to the side if elves want to sit down. People start to file into the room and the music starts to play. I recognize the song that was playing. It is called Swing Life Away by Rise Against.

We all look at each other and walk onto the dance floor and start dancing to the song. Everyone is dancing not even caring if other people think we are weird. Even Tam was dancing! All too soon, the song comes to an end. Our group starts to break off into the couples and do their own thing. Dex and I went over to a table and start talking.

A/N: I don't think I ever said their ages in this story. Keefe, Linh, Tam, and Fitz are out of school. Biana, Dex, Marella, and Sophie are in level 8. It is getting close to the end of the school year for Biana, Dex, Marella, and Sophie.

"Hey, Biana... I've been meaning to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Are you busy Friday night at 7?"

(Biana's Thoughts) O MY GNOME!!!!!!!!!!! Dex is going to ask me on a date!!! Biana, calm down. Hurry up and answer his question.

"I don't think so...Do you have something planned?" I ask him, hoping he will say what I think he is.

"Maybe...if you want to...we could go on a date?" Says Dex.

"Of course I will. What will we be doing?"

"It's a surprise," Dex says smiling. "You can wear whatever you want for it."

"Ok," I say, also smiling. "I can't wait!"

Dex stands up and walks in front of where I'm sitting. He holds out his hand and says, "May I have this dance?"

"Of course."

We walk out and the song that's playing is kind of slow. It's called Better Place by Rachel Platten.

I place my arms around his neck as he put his arms around my waist. He had grown so much from the little boy that I first knew him as. A little way through the song, we were so close that I close the gap. We share a sweet kiss and I then lay my head down on his chest. I am thinking about when we first met. Dex was a lot shorter but now he is tall and strong. This is turning out to be a wonderful night.

Tam's POV

After the group danced to the song Swing Life Away, we split up. I start to look around the room for Marella. I spot her amongst the crowd and start walking towards her. She sees me coming and walks towards me. We are standing around some tables.
