The bartender lets go of my arm and returns back to the bar. The door opens and the sound of glasses sliding down the wooden table and an echo of the song let it be fills my ears. The door closes and the bartender is gone and the different sounds have dissipated in the air. Billy wobbles and mumbles "I'm sorry." I stare at his drunk face and his bright blue eyes stare back at me. I think to myself that he looks like a lost puppy. "Are you kidding me! You cheated on me! Why would I forgive you! Plus you're drunk." He nods his head and repeats the phrase but I love you still. That girl had nothing on you. You are my one and only. She was a nobody" I look into his face and stare at his gelled brunette hair. His eyes sparkle in sync with nigh stars above. Who the hell could not love a man who looked like this." How long has this been going on" I ask. " Two months. But I swear on my life and my family and friends lives that I will never cheat on you again." I believed it. His eyes glowed with truth and his mouth spoke it. I forgave him and I took him home in my car and dropped him off. I didn't trust him driving home. We approached his house a little after 10:00pm. He said his thanks and sorries and kissed me on the cheek. He then looked at me like he never has before. A tiny smile with the word written happy and thankful all over it. I trusted him, and that was all of that night.
