The Legend Of Flame

Chapter 12

After I left Isabelle's room I took the back roads to the abandoned war houses. Its where both worlds of darkness and light meet. Of course nobody dares to go anywhere near it. I hopped over the outer gates of the darkened fortress. It was night time now so it helped for my escape to go and see my brother. Its been over a hundred years since I last saw him.  I walked through the woods that led to my father's house, of course now he is dead, died in battle and everyone thought he was strong. My brother resides in the house now, the outside still looks the same from when I had last been here.

I went around the back and in climbed the side to his bedroom window. The balcony door was left open, I approached it slowly making sure that he wasnt in the room. I heard the shower running, I walked in slowly and sat on his bed. A few minutes later the water was turned off and the door to the bathroom opened letting out steam. Brody looked up and stopped in his tracks. "What are you doing here Ian?" I stood up and  paced around the room before answering, "Why are you threating the princess?" Brody smirked and walked over to his walk in closet. "Ian, you know I would never do that."

I muffeled a laugh and said, "Sure, like you didnt send this letter?" I handed Brody the letter for him to read. He took it from my hands and skimmed it over before letting out a dark chuckle. "I suppose I could have written it." he paused for a second to put pants on. "But then I would be lying." I watched as he went and sat on the bed and looked up at me with a smirk. I glared at him and began to walk back towards the balcony. 'Wait, is that all you came here for? I mean wouldnt you new mother be dissapointed in finding out that you came here?" Brody all but spat out.

I turned back around to look at him. "No one knows I left, not yet atleast. And yeah, that is all I came here for. Dont threaten her again." I turned back around and jumped off the balcony. As I walked back through the dark woods back to the outer fence.

My mother pulled me along until we got to a room that I assumed was my father's study. My father looked up at us and said, "Someone has disturbed the outer fences to the Darkness." I looked over at my mother confused on what this was. "What outer fence?" I asked. My father gave me a hard stare and said, "The outer fence is what kept peace between our people and the darkness. No one ever used until now, and seeing as its forbidden who ever used it must be found and killed." "So now what?" I asked. My father looked over at my mother and said, "We need to find Ian, have him gather the troops and find out who broke law."

My mother nodded and looked over at me and said "Come on." She grabbed my hand and led me out the door. "Anderson, go find Ian and tell him to gather the troops. When everyone is ready come find me." Anderson nodded and went down the hall. So thats was his name was, well probably last name but still a name. "Where are we going?" I asked as my mother pulled be down a flight of stairs. My mother pulled out a key and unlocked the metal door infront of us. I went to ask again but was cut off when she said, "Im so sorry sweetheart." My mother eyes began to water as I looked up at her. I shook my head and asked "What, why are you apolagizing?" 

She looked down at the floor and wiped her tears away. After a few mintues to recover she looked at me and said, "Listen to me when I tell you this. Go back, remember nothing you saw here. Understand?" I furrowed my eyebrows and said "No, forget who my real parents are no way. Thats not happening, Im ready for whatever it is you need me to do." She shook her head "No not yet, you will know when the time comes." My mother hugged me and soon the tears where falling from my eyes. "Im sorry but I promise it will only be for awhile, trust me on this." I nodded my head and wiped away my tears. Next thing I knew I was pushed back and falling, fast. I didnt have time to scream.

Everything went black and everything I saw was forgotten.
