I sat up in bed and wiped at my eyes. The sun was shining through the window and a cool breeze came from the window on the left. It felt nice, very relaxing. "Ah Miss Isabelle, your awake. Your mother is waiting for you in the dining hall." I looked over at the girl by the dresser and stilled, she looked to be nineteen. Although her hair was a strange red purple color, her jaw was sharp and her body movements were gracefull. Her skin was a dark tan but the kind many white girls tan over. She walked over to the bed and set a pair of clothes down. "Probably not your style, but you mother wanted you dressed up." She watched me for a second then spun on her heel and left the room. I shook my head and pulled the covers off of me.
I walked over to what I assumed to be the bathroom, and took a quick shower. When I came out with my towel wrapped around me I walked over to the clothes the maid picked out. "Well atleast its decent." I mumbled to myself. Then a thought accurred to me. Where is Ian? I dressed quickly and headed down to the dining hall. Sad part was I had no idea where it is. I looked to my left and saw a staircase so I walked down them looking for help. When I got to the bottom I saw the maid from earlier and walked over to her. "Hey I didnt catch your name earlier." She stared at me for awhile, her voice timid when she spoke as if she were hiding something. "Catarinia." "Wel uh, do you know where the dining hall is?"
"Oh go straight down that hall, then make a right and its the third door on the left." I nodded and watched her scatter down the hall adjacent to where i was headed. I got to the doors and pushed them open. This place was massive, it had a large wooden table in the middle from what I could tell, could hold atleast fourty people. There was a beautiful crystel chandelier hanging above the table and when the lights hit it, it looked even more beautiful. There were big windows all around the room with redish brown curtains.
"Beautiful isnt it?" I looked up startled. "Uh yeah." She walked up to me and gave me a hug and said, "Im so glared you awake, sorry your father couldnt be here he had some business to take care of." I took a step back to get a better look at her. She had light brown eyes, dark brown hair, slight tan to her skin. She was my height a little taller, she had on a beautiful victorian styled dress that flowed when she walked. I looked back up at her face to see that she was smiling. "Come, I want to show you something." She looks nothing like an anlien, okay maybe her face is slightly angular than most humans but still. Oh well there was the maid from earlier.
I followed her through some doors that where by the windows that I didnt even notice where even there. It lead out to a gorgeous garden with a lake in the middle of it all. We walked down the path that lead up to a tent like structure. "Um, do you know where Ian is?" I asked. She looked over at me "You dont want to spend time with your mother?" "No thats not it," she cut me off laughing, "Im only kidding, he should be around here somewhere. He's always doing something." I looked ahead of us lost in my own thoughts. I was hoping he was going to be there when I woke up. I mean we kissed and everything.
It was just a kiss, probably didnt mean anything any ways. We stopped and sat down on a bench near the lake. It was quiet with birds chirping in the background a nice breeze every now and then. "Looks like Earth doesnt it?" I looked over at my mother and responded, "Yeah, but I think the red sky kind of gives it away." She smiled for a second then it was gone. "I hope you know that what me and your father did was only to protect you." I sighed, "I do, it just that I dont understand why." She took my hand in hers and looked me straight in the eye and said, "Our world was in a war. Darkness started to take over, the only way we could do that without you dying was to send you away. It was the hardest thing me and your father ever had to do. Once we knew you where safe, we sent our best troops to fight."
I looked down at our hands, "Then how does Ian fit into all of this?" I asked puzzled. "Ian was part of the darkness, he and his brother Brody. Their father was nothing but pure evil. When they invaded Ian and Brody were there to. Ian was just a little boy only eight years old but he was smart. At the time his father forced him to stay by his side but he didnt want to be apart of the darkness and evil, he begged me to let him stay with us." "And you agreed?" I asked. "Not at first, but he was so young I would have done anything to get him away from his father. He had asked his brother but Brody stuck by his fathers side, his thoughts were tainted with pure hatred and evil. After a few years the war finaly ended. We raised Ian as our own, he grew up to be such a strong and brave man. Always catching the womens attention."
I smiled and glanced over at her. "You must be proud, making the right choice to bring him out of darkness." She smiled "Yes, always will --" She was cut off by one of the guards. "My Queen the King needs you, he said its a dire emerency." She stood up and pulled me along. "Where is he?" The guard looked back and said, "In his office." She nodded and that is where we headed.
