I woke up, the sun shining through my blinds and dancing on the walls behind me. I lay there staring out the window as the wind blew the leaves around the tree. I couldnt shake the feeling that something wasnt right, that today would be different. I pulled my purple comforter off and sat up in my bed and let out a groan. I closed my eyes and took in a breath before getting up and going to the shower.
My body began to relax as the warm water washed over my body. I massaged my head with strawberry scented shampoo. I rinsed out my hair and let the water run over me. Rubbing away the water from my eyes I slowly opened them, I kept my face blank as I stared at the person in front of me in my shower. My body stilled, the only thought going through my mind is 'why am I not covering myself.'
After Tristen came into my office I spent most of my time pacing around trying to think of a good way to approach Isabelle without scaring her. I had so many scenarios one being that I follow her around and “bump” into her, but that sounded to cliché to do. I ran a hand through my hair pulling slightly in anger and laid down on one of the couche by the fire place. I rested one hand behind my head, the other dangling off the couch and my feet crossed as I stared up at the ceiling.
Its gold trim along the base of the wall, in the middle was a small chandelier. My mother had designed this room especially for my father, and even though my father and I were not that close I still loved him. Sometimes I wish things were different that our world was just one and not separate. I laid still and closed my eyes. ‘Maybe a few minutes of sleep will help with my decision.’
I kept hearing a faint knocking sound but just ignored and turned over on the couch. The knocking got louder and more repetitive. Groaning, I got up and walked towards the door opening it aggressively. “What?” Standing at my door was Tristen, dressed in his ‘physical therapist’ uniform. “I just came to tell you that I am off to see your girlfriend.” I gripped the door and glared at him. “That is what you came to tell, that is why you woke me up.” Tristen pursed his lips and smirked, “Yep so have a good day.” He stormed off down the hall letting out a booming laugh.
I slammed the door and went back over to my desk. I plopped down into the chair and banged my head against the desk. “I will never get any sleep.” I mumbled. “You can when you’re dead.” I looked up from my desk to see Ian sitting in the chair across from me. “What are you doing here, I thought you left.” Ian left out a cynical laugh and smirked at me. “Yeah, I thought that to but decided to drop by for a few minutes to tell you about the change.”
“I already know, Tristen told me.” Ian raised an eyebrow, “Really, Tristen was here?” I narrowed my eyes at him, trying to figure out what game hes playing. “I’m not playing a game Brody.” Ian let out a sigh then got up from the chair and walked towards the balcony, “At least not now.” Then he was gone, I sat there dumbfounded. ‘What has gotten into him?’ he has never been like this. I let out a growl and looked over out the window. I thought about Isabelle and transported there before Ian can get to her.
There I stood in front of Isabelle, her gorgeous face dripping with water. Wait, water? I didn’t realize I was standing in her shower until it was too late and she was staring at me with a blank expression. I didnt mean to look down but Im a guy so what do you expect. I looked back up at her to see a blush cover her cheeks. I smiled and said "I probably should get out of your shower." She blushed a darker shade of red and nodded.
