The most merciful thing in the world, I believe, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little, but someday, the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and our frightful position there in, that humans shall go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age. Then mankind would have become as the Great Old Ones, free and wild and beyond good and evil, with laws and morals thrown aside and all men shouting and killing and revelling in joy. Then the liberated Old Ones would teach them new ways to shout and kill and revel and enjoy themselves, and all the earth would flame with a holocaust of ecstasy and freedom.
What these mortals do not realize is they cannot comprehend us. They cannot understand what we are. We are beings far above them. For their minds are too puny for us to be comprehended so easily. We are indeed gods that can wipe them away with but a finger if we must.
They cannot grasp power like we can. They cannot attain it, no matter what they do. The most famed scientists cannot manipulate the events of nature itself or warp the fabric of reality. It is beyond their understanding. Creating a wormhole in another dimension is impossible to perform even with the knowledge that is stored in the mind.
Mankind cannot truly live up to its name as an intelligent species. They are arrogant and unfaithful to others. They savagely boast their own egos as if it has a meaning to their names. These humans are willing to take away anything from someone should they be wronged or commit to a wrongdoing. Corruption spreads through this world like moths drawn towards an open flame.
I have seen it all through my own eyes. The wars that humans that inflict one another, causing unnecessary bloodshed. I would stand at those lone battlefields, watching people die. The young crying out for their mothers, wishing to go home and the old living with the memories of war, unable to wash away the sounds of madness and death, not able to move on with their miserable lives. I have no interest in causing a war that has nothing to do with anything.
My search for the ideal human drove into my mind. These ants had nothing to gain, nothing to fight for. None of them possessed qualities that make them stand out. I was growing bored of seeing the same occurrence as they conduct to their own devices, walking with a sense of duty, pretending they are who they say they are. I have met creatures that are far more interesting than these worthless wretches.
I simply do not have time for them. Tormenting them over and over and over again has become boring as of late. My followers do not provide me entertainment. I am grounded to working as a businessman, having formed into the owner of the Tokyo Skytree. There must be something interesting that I can do.
Perhaps it is best if I leave for the time being. I am growing rather bored of staying here. I may encounter someone interesting. If not, then I may have to relieve my boredom through tormenting another human again. I believe I have taken a female form and seduced a man before devouring him.
Quite delicious. The thought of devouring humans was causing drool to run down the corner of my lips. Their hearts and liver were delicious to eat. The taste of flesh sparked sensations in my mouth I never knew would be possible. It is better when it is a virgin that I am devouring as they taste better than ones that I believe are "fresh meat."
I do have my manners. I be sure that my victim is alive as I devour them whole. They do not survive. Their struggles are often ceased as soon as they enter my jaws. I do take my time by eating their limbs first, keeping them alive through my abilities.
