(Destiny's POV)
I woke up to everyone staring at me which wasn't really a first. I heard a thump outside and James came walking in. He looked at Luke annoyed and Luke looked even confused. I sat up more straight, staring at them. I watched them silently.
"I would like to take Luna out," James said sternly.
"Why?" Luke looked at him warily.
"Dragons should fly, shouldn't they? I can teach her." Everyone looked at each other in silent question. After a while they let James take me. He grabbed me in his gentle hands.
He walked with me for a while before he found his way onto a large cliff with a valley overlooking it. He looked at me and I looked at him, my wings suddenly didn't want to open. I stared down the cliff and back up to him. If he were to drop me I was sure to die.
"Relax," that instantly made my wings loosen. "I will be right behind you Incase anything happens, ok?"
I nodded and he smiled, he set me down onto the grass. I walked up to the edge, staring below me. He walked up behind me and smiled. I stared below at the valley. I felt a foot on my back leg and looked back to see James had his foot between my back legs. He looked down at me with a pleasant smile.
"You know, Flying is easier than walking," James said with a smile. I looked back down at the valley and I took in a breath, leaping.
I began to panic as the air blew past me. My wings were stiff, not moving. I stared as the ground got closer. My heart pounded. For a moment I thought I saw dark eyes stare up from the woods, watching me fail.
"Luna!" The words snapped me back into reality and my wings loosened and I snapped them open and the air caught my wings and my small body floated for a moment before flapping my wings and going up some. I heard a cheer and when I looked up I saw that James hadn't even left the cliff! He had lied to me. I flapped my wings a little more, getting ahold of going up or down or just hovering. I looked up to see that now Luke was standing next to James, yelling at him. I accidentally tipped my wing side ways, swerving and hitting my head against the stone. I heard Luke call but I wasn't able to focus, tumbling down the side and slamming into some branched before slamming into the ground. I looked up before my eyes were forced shut, and I felt something of large claws wrapped around me and lifted me up.
(Luke's POV)
"LUNA! LUNA!" I shouted down the valley, I could feel James hurt gaze as he stared at me and the valley. My hand slammed down onto the ground and I growled. I looked back at James. "We need to go and get her."
"Bu-but everyone else....." he sputtered
I shook my head. "We have to get down there NOW."
I grabbed his wrist before he could deny and I pulled him alone until we came to a trail that led down. I quickly pulled James along and stopped at the dark woods. I could hear the brisk slither of a tail. It sounded close and I inhaled sharply, knowing Luna was in there. When I looked back Jake was gone. I grumbled and walked into the woods, changing my direction every time I head the slithering of scales. I approached a cave and realized that the slithering was focused in the cave. I began walking in there and heard a large exhale of air and fell beck as fire blew out of the entrance. I froze for a while before regaining my confidence. I peeked around the corner to see a large dragon, blowing small streams of fire onto branches and leaves, making a fire. It looked over at a black lump with a look of happiness but also sadness before it blew a small stream of fire over it. When the fire dispersed the small black lump was still there and it shifted. I realized it was Luna. My heart skipped multiple beats.
