(Luna's POV)
I woke up to see my father beaming at me. I was laying on the floor, the cave had faded.
"You took that better than I expected," he said and helped me up, hugging me. "You are free to go."
A door seemed to open on a side and I happily stepped through it and emerged in the soft smells of the forest. I still hadn't tried to shift, I still felt uncomfortable changing into a dragon. I walked a few steps before looking over to see Luke, his eyes a normal color. He wasn't staring at me but more of at people at the cave. I hid behind the bush to see what was happening.
"Come on guys we have to keep looking!" Luke's voice sounded urgent.
"Oh come on. We've been looking for weeks. She's gone. Just give up," James sounded sad but his words made my head spin. Weeks? Does the realm of truth have slower time?
"You even said you'd help me until she was found. Do you lie to me Mr. Feathers?"
"I told you not to call me that!" James finally ran out, tackling Luke over and they wrestled for a bit before laughing and pushing each other away.
"Do you think Luna is with the stars?" Luke's question made my own head spin.
"Maybe," James whispered back, I leaned forward and ended up snapping a stick, both of them bolting up. Out of panic I shifted, becoming the lizard my father had changed me to before. I tried to find a better hiding spot but before I could I felt hands on my side, picking me up. I tried to squirm away and when I turned back Luke had picked me up. I squeaked in alarm and tried to squirm away.
"That looks like something Destiny would like as a pet," James said, coming up behind Luke. Luke nodded and they brought me to the cave
"Oh my lord what is that!" Destiny yelped in surprise. She grabbed me from Luke and immediately froze, staring down at me. Her eyes seemed to stare straight at me, finding hope in me. I barely could breath as she stared at me. I stared back, silent.
(Destiny's POV)
It's eyes.... I know those eyes.... my heart barely contained itself as a flood of realization hit me. I looked up at the group.
"Luke.." I said slowly, "I would like to talk with you, privately."
(Luke's POV)
I walked into the back of the cave with Destiny. The lizard still in her hands. Destiny had brought a chair and instead of sitting in it she set the lizard in it.
"Shift now. Explain later," she demanded in the most relieved and angry voice. I watched as slowly the small lizard shifted, becoming Luna. Who I thought was gone. I choked back tears as she finished, her eyes looking up into mine. Bolting forward I engulfed her into a hug, before I suddenly felt her lips touch mine, giving me the longest kiss I've ever had. I hugged Luna as close as I could.
"Alright love birds I need an explanation then I can leave you to do your.... things." Destiny walked over and sat down in the chair and stared up at us. Luna pulled back, silently sitting on the ground.
"Well......?" Destiny asked with a curios look. Luna quickly told us both of what had all happened. The way she was now able to change to any animal she wanted to whenever. I listened wide eyed and when she mentioned how her father acted I got really concerned for her.
"He said he'd give you any power?" I asked politely and she nodded.
"He said he'd give me any power. Anything I wanted."
"Then we need to go back," Destiny's voice was so urgent Luna even stood up quickly. Staring at Destiny with the most straight look.
"I'm not going back there. Do you know what that place does to people?"
I put my hand on her shoulder
"And I will be there for you. No matter what." My words made her brighten up and I smiled at her. After a while she finally sighed.
"I guess we can go back. Time to see my father once again."
"Turn back into a lizard. We are gonna get out and act like we went on some crazy adventure to find you," Destiny said and Luna nodded, shifting into a lizard. Destiny told the rest of our group that we were going out and we left, walking as Luna would sometimes correct where we were going until we hit a wall, a door opening for us.
"Welp, here we go," I jumped at Luna's voice, not expecting it. She grabbed my hand and we all walked through the door. To our first look at the Realm of Truth.
——————————————————————————-
"Welcome to the Realm of Truth," Luna said in a meek tone, sighing. I stared around at the white world.
"How exactly is this going to make any truth?" I asked but immediately the world formed around them, showing the school. I froze and when I looked over Destiny looked just as stunned but Luna looked hurt to see the school. I instantly felt bad for her.
"Who is this for?" Destiny asked, looking around. She took a step forward and I noticed a group of girls walking up to us. I stared at them.
"Oooooh Lukey.......," a girl pried her way out of the group. I noticed she had a hand mark around her neck. Luna noticed it also, taking a step back.
"I'm so sorry for what happened, I did something so wrong. I just love you so much and she was in the way. I promise that I will never ever do that again," she said in an innocent tone. I willingly let her grab my hand but I regained my senses and pulled away.
"I'm sorry, but I have someone else in mind," I said calmly but she grabbed my wrist, digging her nails into my skin. Blood started to ooze from my wrist.
"Luke!" I heard Luna's yelp before I felt her hand release. My vision cleared and I realized Luna had lunged herself at the girl and now something horrifying was happening.
"I heard your father took control of your boyfriend, making him horrifying," The girl hissed as she was able to hold Luna down. She held a knife in one of her hands.
"Let's make a mark for every single time you were emotionally hurt." The girl's grin was so wide I tried to stop her but immediately I felt like clamps were on my feet, holding me back.
"When you were abandoned by your dad," The girl hissed, slicing the knife across Luna's wrist. She let out a cry of pain. "When your dog was killed as it tried to defend you from the bullies.." another cut, and Luna's cry was louder.
"Stop! Stop please!" I pleaded, but I watched as they acted like they didn't even hear me.
"When you were bullied after your dog died." Another cut. Another cry. "When you moved away to avoid the bullies but they were there!" She cut deeply into Luna's skin the time and she screamed in agony. The girl smiled.
"And lastly, when Grizzly told you the truth. When he told you that you are a nobody. Your useless. Just like the bullies you dealt with! He was right. And that's why it hurt so much. Because he hit your true personality!" She stabbed the knife into Luna's upper arm, where it wouldn't kill yet it hurt so much. Luna screamed, kicking the girl straight in the chest, making her fly back into a tree. Surprisingly she stood up, the knife now in her hand.
Blood oozed down Luna's arm, her whole body shaking. Finally Destiny ran up to her and I felt like a could move again. Destiny tried to calm Luna down but she couldn't help from crying. I hugged her tightly and she seemed to relax with that. I felt so happy that she was still alive.
"Well what a wonderful surprise. I thought you were gone for good."
