(Luna's POV)
I blushed as Destiny freaked out and Luke wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me against him. I looked up into his eyes and he smiled back. I looked back down to realize that Destiny was grabbing my binder and handing it to me. I took it.
"We should get to school, don't want to be late."
I nodded, putting my binder over my shoulder and soon everyone was ready, all of us walking to school. As soon as I walked in I saw a group of girls and I noticed Jake narrowing his eyes at one of them. She shrugged the glare off like a bug and looked away. They all seemed more focused with me as Luke twined his fingers with mine, holding my hand gently. They all seemed to narrow there eyes at me as he walked next to me and I took my hand, sitting down in my seat.
"Are you going to get breakfast?" Destiny asked suddenly and I shook my head.
"Thanks for asking though," I said softly. She nodded and walked off with the rest of my friends. I turned over to the group of girls and realized one of them made her way next to me, staring down at me.
"Uh..... hi?" I said but she was silent. After a while I stood up but she slammed her hand into my chest, knocking me back.
"What the hell!?!?!?" I snapped, staring up at her.
"Oh no the little girl is mad!" The girl whined, making my stomach twist. "Is she going to punch me?!?! Oh no!"
The other girls crowded surrounded me, saying comments and rude things before one said, "no wonder she's mad, no one would ever love her! Not even that emo boy Luke!" That did it, I stood up before someone could shove me down and socked the main girl strait in the jaw, turning and running. I felt a foot under me and fell down onto my knees. I looked up to realize there was another girl. "Awww poor girl can't run away. Someone tell her how to walk!"
I sobbed as I stood up, running past Destiny and her friends and out the school doors. I was sick of the names, of the people. It was just like my old school.
"Luna!" I turned towards the voice, seeing Destiny. I ignored her, running down the street towards my house. I walked in and put my binder on the table and made my way up the stairs to my room. I laid on my bed and sobbed myself to sleep.
(Destiny's POV)
I watched her run off, sobbing as she ran. I sighed and felt a hand and turned to see it was Jake. I sighed and leaned against him.
"Those girls did what they did to you to her," he said with a sigh. "Sadly no one was their for her unlike you." All I could do was sigh. He wrapped his arm around my waist and I leaned against his side.
After a while I could hear grumbling and growling. Before hearing the voice clearly I knew it was Luke talking to those girls. When I walked in and realized I was correct. They were in an intense argument about what they had done.
"She won't mind, she's just a dumb little girl," one said. Luke struck quickly, pinning her against the wall. She let out a yelp in surprise and I froze, unsure of what to do. I barely had time to think before James came running in.
"Luke! Luke! Stop! Don't do this!" His screaming made Luke flinch just enough to see his eyes were red. Blood red. I panicked. He had NEVER done this before. Had Luna triggered a feature in him that no one knew about? It was all to much for me. I took a step forward bravely.
"Luna doesn't want this," the words made him stop. Good. He's listening. "She may have been bullied by this girl but you know she doesn't want any harm to anyone, and hurting any of them isn't what she wants. Think about her. Not your anger."
He stared at the girl for a moment, considering her before letting her go. The girl fell limp with fear to the ground and he glanced at me, his eyes still a blood red. After a while he walked out of the school and down the street, towards Luna's house. Careful Luna, I am scared for you.
(Luna's POV)
I ate a bowl of cereal, having calmed down since the incident. I figured they were right. But were they? I finshed my bowl about to go upstairs before I heard a knocking on the door. I opened the door to see Luke staring down at me. The weird thing I saw was that his eyes were a blood red yet he smiled at me happily.
"Uh.... hi," I said with a fake smile that seemed to play it off. I was confused if this meant he was mad or something had changed in him, yet he seemed happier just to be looking at me.
"Hello Luna," he said calmly, addressing my name in an odd fashion he never had done before.
"Why are you here?" I continued, trying to place a finger on why his eyes were the shade they were but not specifically asking.
"I came to make sure you were fine, those girls aren't people to let you go happy."
"Were you mad after what they.... did to me?"
"Of course, I still am mad. When I saw you running away and that girl laughing I just wanted to.... tear her vocal cords out." Aha! I thought silently. So his eyes reflect his strong emotions. I seemed to relax at that.
"But they will never hurt you again. Or they will pay. But I promise you they won't ever find us. I promise you," he said. I suddenly caught it. His voice was changing! I stared up at him and realized he smiled down at me but I suddenly couldn't hide my fear. He quickly caught onto my look.
"What is wrong? Did they hurt you? I will punish them."
My whole body froze, "no, no I'm fine," I said quickly. He looked at me before nodding. "But I should really get some rest." I turned around and began to walk away before feeling his hand clamp around my wrist.
"We are leaving. And you will come."
"Luke! Let me go," I about screamed, pulling away. Yet his grip was too strong.
"Shhhh..... rest, Luna. I will take you to a safe place. We're no one will ever hurt us." I felt a new surge of energy and yanked back but he pulled me back with a tighter grip. I felt my teeth sharpen and realized I was beginning to shift. I rubbed my tounge over the teeth and I thought for a moment. Finally I decided and while he was in his focused state I shifted, slipping out of his grasp and quickly scrambling across the floor.
"Luna get back here now!" His voice hissed as I scrambled for a hiding spot. I saw a small crevice in the wall barely big enough for me and I bolted and I barely felt his fingertips against my tail before I disappeared into the crevice, listening to his growls and hisses. "Luna I swear, I will get you and I will take you where I choose." His voice made me incredibly sad before I heard footsteps and then silence. I poked my head out and realized he had left.
"I need to find Destiny," I thought aloud, finding my way outside and scrambling towards the cave in the grass.
