Chapter 3: Invitation

It was just another day at St.Mary Junior High School and everyone was excited about the weekend and Christmas break. Mostly because Daisy Settman's Birthday party was coming up and she was turning 13.

Daisy was handing out invitations to everyone in the school but Rita. At lunchtime, everyone was talking about Daisy's 13th birthday party how it was going to be "the bomb."

Daisy was sitting at the popular table while little Rita sat at an empty table by herself.

Just then, a girl with short wavy brown hair and beautiful purple eyes stood in front of Rita. Rita looked at her and thought 'I have never seen anyone with purple eyes before!'

The girl smiled. "Hi I'm Jenny, I'm new here and I was wondering if could sit here. I seemed to notice that you do not have any friends so I decided to sit with you. Do you mind?"

Rita shook her head, "No go ahead, and sit. I am Rita. I'm not really the most popular girl at this school but I'm really nice!" Jenny giggled. "It's nice to meet you."

All of sudden you could hear the clicking of heels as Rita turns around to see Bratty Daisy with a ...smile on her face? Rita was flabbergasted. Why would Daisy be smiling so hard?

Then she remembered about Jenny. She was trying to take Jenny away from her! Daisy said so nicely to Jenny "Hi I'm Daisy Settman, future Actress, Singer, Dancer, and Superstar."

Jenny smiled awkwardly. "Nice to meet you I'm Jenny."

Daisy looked at her eyes, "I love your eyes. What kind of contacts do you use?"

Jenny shook her head. "I don't have any contacts on; it's just my eye color." Daisy's eyes widened. "Oh my Gosh really, I wish my eyes were that color."

She looked at her Twins and snapped her fingers. They came and stood beside her.

"I was wondering if you want to join my group. You will be perfect and fit in very well with us since you are super gorgeous. You also get this very cool friendship bracelet and here is an invitation to my awesome birthday party that is tomorrow. I hope to see you there."

Daisy handed her the invitation. Jenny looked at it. It was in a heavy thick paper envelope and it was rose pink with a ribbon on it.

Jenny was about to say yes until she saw Rita with her head down.

Jenny actually liked Rita did not want her to be sad. She suddenly had a bright idea. She then spoke, "I'll go to the party."

Daisy smiled and was about to hug her until Jenny said proudly, "But only if Rita can go with me."

Daisy and the twins dropped their jaws to the floor. That is until Daisy snapped her fingers and they closed their jaws.

Daisy smiled a little harder and said very impatiently "Jenny I invited you. I didn't invite Rita so why don't you just come with us and we will talk about all the stuff we're going to do at my party."

Daisy gently grabbed Jenny's arm until Jenny shoved her hand back and said "Not without Rita. It's either me and her or just neither of us at all."

Jenny smiled at Rita. Rita smiled back and thought to herself 'I finally have a true friend.'

Daisy snapped her fingers twice and she and the twins went in a huddle.

After a few whispers, they finally got out of the huddle. Daisy walked to Rita, who had a smirk on her face. Daisy rolled her eyes and sighed, "Here. Don't forget to bring a present."

Rita finally got an invitation! She eagerly took it and kept examining it. Daisy snapped her fingers and both of the twins followed her to their table.
