Escape from life

Chapter 10: Date.

Rita was getting ready in her room for her first date with Neymar when Karen walked in. She took in Rita's dirty converse and jeans and plain t-shirt. Karen gasped.

"Oh my goodness, don't tell me that you are actually wearing THAT on your first date??? Let me help." she rolled her eyes and walked into Rita's closet.

She pulled out a blue button up and some skinny jeans. She handed it to Rita. "Put that on. I mean, you are still gonna look ugly but it's better than that."

Rita changed and looked in the mirror. She looked at her reflection and smiled. Then she turned to Karen. "It's not exactly a date."

Suddenly there was a knock on the front door. Rita tried to hurry and rush downstairs but William got to it first. He looked down at Neymar. "Who are you?" Neymar gulped and straightened his shirt.

"Hi- I mean, Hello sir!" he stuttered. "I'm here for Rita."

William squinted at him. "Yeah she told me about you. You take good care of her, you heard me?"

Neymar looked at him seriously. "I'll always take care of her sir."

William laughed. "All right, you kids can go now." Rita made it down the stairs and stood next to Neymar. "Okay bye dad!!"

When the door closed, Neymar looked at her and then his smile brightened up. "What?" Rita asked. He pointed at his outfit. "We match." Neymar was wearing a blue button up and jeans too.

Rita just giggled. "Where are we going?"

"Well we are going to go to the Carnival that they are having in town."

They both walked towards the driveway to Neymar's limo that came in and the Chauffeur opened the door for Rita and they drove off.

When they arrived at the Carnival, the Chauffeur told Neymar "When you are done, you can call me so I can come get you." Neymar frowned. "But I don't have a-"

The chauffeur slammed the door and drove off. "How are we going to get home???" Rita cried out.
Neymar frowned. "Wait." He dug into his pocket. "I just remembered, I do have a phone." Rita sighed. "Oh good. But I wish I had a phone."

Neymar remembered. "Oh right, I remembered that you didn't have one so I bought you one."

He dug around his pocket for a minute and handed her an iPhone 7 plus. It had a pink case. She took it. "Wow it's so pretty!! Thank you." He nodded. "Yeah. So what do you want to do first?"

She looked at the games and rides and food booths. She saw the balloon dart game. She pointed to it. "That one."

They walked towards it and had to step on the wooden step to reach it. Neymar said "3 darts please."

She smiled at him. "That will be 5 dollars. If you want 6 darts to try to win the big prizes, it's 10 dollars."

He slapped down a $100 and smiled at her. "Keep the change."

He aimed at them and popped all 6 balloons. He picked a brown bear that was bigger than he was and handed it to Rita.

She blushed and said "No you don't have to give it to me." He smiled at her. "Just take it! So we can remember this day when we're older."

Rita's face turned red. "Okay then..."

After that they went on rides and bought a bunch of stuff and won a lot more prizes. When they got to Rita's house, she turned to Neymar. "Thank you for taking me with you to the Carnival."

"You're welcome." he looked really nervous. Rita was about to ask why, when all of a sudden he quickly kissed her cheek. "Bye."

She turned really red and just sputtered. "Oh umm yeah bye!" she slammed the door and lugged all of her stuff inside.

The first thing she heard was Karen screeching "How was your date??? Where did he take you? Did he buy you anything??"

Rita said "Yeah he did but I'm going to my room." Before Karen could say a word, she ran up the stairs with all of her stuff.

She closed her door and flopped on her bed. She took out her new phone and started looking through it. Suddenly she got a message.

"Hi Rita!! It's me Neymar. I already paid for the data or whatever so you can send messages and stuff."

When they finished their conversation and Rita said Goodnight, she flopped down on her bed and went to sleep happy for the first time in years.

And she had forgotten all about Emily.
