Escape from life

Chapter 16:Hospital.

Before Karen and Rita were about to walk into the room, Jenny's parents came out sobbing. Rita tightened her grip on Emily and walked in the room.

Jenny looked up. "Hi Rita." she said weakly.

Rita rushed over. "Are you okay?? I mean, I know you aren't but I just wanted to know how you felt."

Jenny nodded. "I mean I feel fine, the doctors said I might not live."

Rita started tearing up. "But you are my best friend... What happened? How did you fall?"

Jenny stared at her blankly, thinking about it. "Well I don't really know if I'm going crazy or not, but I'm sure that-" Suddenly she caught a glimpse of Emily under Rita's arm.

"No!!!!!" She screamed. "Get that thing away from me!!!! Get it away!!!" She struggled and tried to get up.

The heart monitor started beeping like crazy.

Rita tried to calm her down. "No Jenny, it's fine, it's just-."

Jenny was still screaming and pulling against the needles poked into her arm.

"Get it away!!! Get it away from me!!!"

Karen grabbed Rita's arm. "Let's get out of here!!!" Rita yanked against her arm.

Jenny was still yelling and the monitors were beeping like crazy until.... It stopped.

The room was quiet for 2 seconds before Rita cried out "No please Jenny!!!! You are my only friend!!!! Please please please-"

Suddenly, 4 nurses burst in and one of them pushed Karen and Rita out. "Sorry but you must get out. I'm very sorry."

The door slammed. Rita was silent. She was just staring at the door.

Karen sighed. "Well I'm kinda hungry. Let's go down to the cafeteria."

Rita didn't say anything. She was still in shock.

Suddenly Rita turned and yelled "MY BEST FRIEND DIED AND ALL YOU WORRY ABOUT IS EATING!!!!! You... you... COW!!!"

Karen snatched Emily away. "Well it's not my fault you carried this old thing around and it freaked her out!"

Rita took her back. "You know what, forget this. I don't have time to deal with you."

Karen stared at her gape mouth as Rita walked the opposite direction in the hall.
