Mike's POV

Chester grabbed my hand and dragged me to Lincoln park. This place will definitely mean something to our friendship.

I can't believe Chester is hurt, I don't think he'll tell me the truth about what happened and I'll not push him into anything. I just wanted him to trust me, you know.

He laid on the grass letting the sun reflect on his pale skin. He had his eyes closed and his glasses were a bit crooked. He looked so innocent and so cute.

He opened one eye and saw me standing right beside him. He pulled my hand making me fall over him. I had to be so strong to overcome the urge to kiss him.

I rolled to his side and we stayed there just lying on the comfy grass. Somehow, neither him or I felt awkward after the almost kiss moment, Chester had this ability to be so genuine and yet, hide so many secrets. He had this ability of acting with such innocence, without any harmful or dirty intention that these kinds of moments weren't awkward.

"I wanna run away
Never say goodbye" the most sweet and beautiful voice I've ever heard. Chester was singing a song I had never heard before. He sounded like an angel. His voice seemed to be so small when he talked but now, hearing him sing, his voice is so powerful.

"I wanna know the truth instead of wondering why
I wanna know the answers, no more lies
I wanna shut the door and open up my mind"

He finished and looked at me with tears welling his beautiful eyes.

"It's beautiful. Your voice. It is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard." I said impressed with the boy's talent.

"Thanks. But it's not..." He sighed with laughter and blinked back tears.

"It is, I wouldn't lie to you. What song were you singing by the way? It's really good."

"It's actually a draft I was working on... do you really think it's good?" He asked shyly. His ears and cheeks were turning bright red.

"Yes! Maybe we could work on it together, is it alright?" I asked excited.

"Yea! I'll pick the papers in my house. I'll be back in a minute. Hold on." He said getting up and started to run towards the park entrance. I followed him. I wanted to stay with him all the time and maybe I could pick up my drawing stuff too.

We picked up the things we needed and headed back to the park. We spent the whole day at the park. It was 5p.m when we decided to head out and eat something. The song was like this now:

Graffiti decorations
Under the sky of dust
A constant wave of tension
On top of broken trust

The lessons that you taught me
I learned were never true
Now I find myself in question
They point the finger at me again
Guilty by association
You point the finger at me again

I wanna run away
Never say goodbye
I wanna know the truth
Instead of wondering why
I wanna know the answers
No more lies
I wanna shut the door
And open up my mind

We got to a snack bar and went to a booth. Chester was oddly quiet today. I've tried too many times to talk to him but he just nodded.

"Chester?" I tried again. He took his eyes off the menu and looked at me blankly.
"So... uhm... what you wanna eat?" I continued.

"Dunno." He simply replied and turned away to look at the menu again. I couldn't hold back one disappointment sigh and he shivered a bit.

"Chaz... what's bothering you?" I looked at him but he didn't take his eyes off the menu. "Chazzy please... I wanna help you." I insisted and he inhaled a shaky breath. He was about to cry again. Shit, I didn't want him to cry in a public place. I got up and sat right next to him and not in front as I was. I put an arm around his shoulders and felt him relax slightly.
