Chapter 28 - peace at last

Chester's POV

After the holidays I was feeling refreshed. Finally a new year and a new start. Mike and I headed to school hand in hand and when we entered the hallways we were warmly greeted by our group of friends.

"Hey Chazter!" Dave said laughing. I laughed too and hugged him.

"Hey Phiphi!" I said.

"Guys... me and Rob need to tell you something." Brad said and blushed, I glared at Mike and we smirked, already knowing what was to come.

Rob held Brad's hand and squeezed it.
"We're together." He smiled sweetly and looked lovingly at Brad. I was so happy for them, they looked so in love.

"Wait WHAT?" Dave exclaimed, obviously surprised. "I'm your best friend and you didn't tell me you were into guys!" He fake pouted and Rob laughed.

"I didn't know until I met this curly beauty." He said and Brad hid his crimson red face with his hands.

"You guys are so cute!" Mike finally said jumping excited.

"You are." I said too.

"So wait, does this mean I'm the only straight guy in the group?" Dave asked.

"I guess so... is Joe-" I said but was interrupted by Mike.

"He's pansexual." Mike laughed.

"Well, then you're the only one." I shrugged and we laughed. "Don't worry, we still like you, Phi."

Mike's POV

Since the winter bowl Caleb had stopped bothering us. Chester really had intimidated him and I was thankful for it.

It was break time and we sat all together. We had a group of friends now and Chester seemed so happy, so grateful. I loved to see his shiny eyes and bright smile of true joy.

"I'm so happy, Mike. Like, really happy after such a long time in the darkness." He said to me while the others goofed around.

"I can see it. I'm happy too, Chaz. I told you we were gonna be okay, didn't I?" I said caressing his shaved hair. He leaned into the touch and grinned.

"You did. I'm happy that I waited with you."

"We will be okay now. Robert is in jail and Caleb won't ever bother us anymore. Soon we'll have our little apartment and we can try to put a band together like we talked about, remember?" I said leaning in and kissing him.

"Yes. I guess we will be alright now at last." He said.

*months later*

"Chester! We're gonna be late if you don't hurry up." I shouted from downstairs and Chester came running.

"How the heck do I put this on?" He asked irritated with a bow tie in hand and I chuckled.

"Lemme help ya." I grabbed the tie from his hand and put it on him. "There you go. You look beautiful." I said admiring his simple black and white tux that fitted perfectly in his body, highlighting his curves.

"You do too. You look more hot though." He said grabbing my ass and I blushed. It was amazing how embarrassed I still felt when he did those things.

"Stop it." I led my hand to cover my face and he giggled.

"Cute pie. Let's go." He giggled again and we entered the car, heading to the graduation.

Chester's POV

I was more excited than I thought I'd be. I never actually thought that I'd get this far and complete high school, but here I was, retrieving my diploma while Mike's parents cheered for us.

I didn't have any family, but I considered Muto and Donna my parents too, so I wasn't saddened at all.

"Congratulations, son!" Muto said hugging me. Every time he referred to me as 'son' my heart leaped.

"I'm so proud, Chester!" Donna kissed my cheeks and squeezed me as I squirmed.

"Thank you." I said to both of them and Mike came behind me.

"Congratulations!" Muto said to Mike this time and Donna did the same she had done to me.

"Boys, what do you think about going to a nice restaurant to commemorate?" Donna asked enthusiastically and we both nodded. We said our goodbyes to our friends and headed to the restaurant.

We all ate and enjoyed ourselves. When we arrived home we were all very tired and each went to their respective rooms.

I took out my clothes and Mike did the same. He laid down on the bed and I laid on top of him, kissing him passionately.

"Finally we're out high school!" I cheered and Mike laughed.

"Peace at last." He sighed and turned us to the side. "Hold me today?" He asked timidly.

"My pleasure." I smirked and hugged him.

In the end, everything turned out fine.
