Chapter 3
Carmen's POV
"They want me to m-move to LA, to record. I leave tomorrow."
What? There's no way. He has to be joking.
We sit there in silence as I attempt to process what he is saying.
"You're joking right?!" I said with a nervous giggle.
"No Carmen, I'm serious. I'm really sorry, but you know this is an opportunity of a lifetime." Tristan tried to explain.
"Yeah I get it's a big deal Tristan, but you didn't bother to tell me earlier. I'm your best friend, and you're acting like you don't care that you're leaving me permanently." I said highly aggravated.
"Carmen, stop over reacting. I obviously care. It's just that at the moment I have more important things to think about than you. Sorry. Believe it or not, you aren't always my top priority," Tristan retorted rudely.
"Excuse me? I know music is the most important thing to you, but it would be nice if you pretended to care about me for a second," I whimpered.
"Classic Carmen; always making everything about her. I have things to do and no time to waste. And frankly, talking to you is a waste of time. Bye Carmen," Tristan angrily stated before he hung up.
I angrily huffed as I plopped on my bed. My eyes suddenly started to pool, and I could taste the salty water on my tongue. It seemed like the tears wouldn't stop. Who does he think he is? What kind of cruel person tells their best friend that they're moving across the world over the phone? Its obvious he doesn't care about our friendship or how I feel. I really hope the fame doesn't get to his head, but I notice it has already started to.
Only Trist can make a girl fall for him, then despise him all within 24 hours. All I know, is that one thing is certain.
I hate Tristan Reed.
