Chapter 9

Tristan's POV

"Carmen?" I was so shocked. The face looking back at me looked familiar, but you can definitely tell she's changed. She wore her hair straight now, and it appeared to be significantly longer than the last time I saw her. Its amazing how much someone can change in five years.

Its not until I hear a slightly awkward cough, that I realize I have been staring at her. "Uh-uh what are you doing here," I say with a look of confusion on my face.

"I'm asking myself the same question," she said with a look of pure annoyance on her face.

My mom then finally walked in the room. "Carmen! My gosh, it has been so long! You look wonderful," my mom said with a huge smile on her face.

"Oh, uh thank you Mrs.Reed," Carmen said, still confused. "I guess now would be the best time to tell you all, Carmen and her family will be moving in with us!" My mom said with a smile.

What? The girl I have spent five years trying to get over and successfully avoid, is now living with me. Well, isn't this great. (Note my sarcasm). Honestly, I don't want her here. I have everything I need; my music, my acting career, my fans, my family/friends, and my girlfriend. Yes, Vi and I are finally dating. It has only been about three months and we are pretty serious, but ever since the paparazzi fiasco, we have decided to keep our relationship a secret. Anyway, my life has been pretty drama-free, and I would like to keep it that way. I know Carmen being here will somehow cause drama, and that is the last thing I need; so once again I'm going to try and avoid her at all costs.

Carmen's POV

What the heck? I should've known that when my mom said "friend", that she meant the Reeds. We don't know anyone else in America! If I knew we would be staying with him, I would have stayed with Tanner and my other friends, and just come at the beginning of the school year. How am I supposed to spend every waking hour with the person I hate the most? Who ignores their best friend for five years? Tristan does.

We glare at each other as our parents call us to come sit at the table so we could "talk". We all dragged our bags through the door then went to go sit at the table. Once we were all seated, Mrs. Reed and my mom looked at each other with a worried look then took a big breath.

"We know that is a uh...surprise to you all, but you need to know that this is the best option for us until Carmen gets settled into school, and we start looking for a house," My mom said slowly.

"Are you telling me I have to be in the same house with....him, until the school year?!" I say angrily. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Tristan rolling his eyes at me.

"Carmen, calm down. I know there is some...tension, between you two, so to solve it, Tristan your mother and I want you to spend the next few weeks showing Carmen around LA," my mom said matter-of-factly.

"That includes introducing her to your friends, as well as taking her to the set with you, and all of your events. No if, ands, or buts. You aren't getting out of this, Tristan," His mother said warning him.

"WHAT?" I yelled as Tristan got up and stormed out of the room.
