As I lay there and stare down my sights set on this beast I hesitate to pull the trigger. My mind is screaming at my muscles to pull the trigger, but my body is saying no as I feel the hairs on the back of my neck start to stand up. In the background I saw a larger male except with a mask lift up what looked like that female I saw earlier. I couldn't get a good look at her face due to her dreadlocks covering it. But one thing I noticed was that she was nude, which puzzled me as to why. But then answers for my thought popped into my mind. The larger male seemed to be beginning to try to hang her up onto some sort of pillar.

Quickly I gave my attention back to the smaller male before me as it made a clicking noise. I exhaled a breath and sucked in another. I watched vigorously at this things movements. Suddenly the two slits on where a normal nose would be flared open and the males head shot up and looked directly at me. I then panicked moving my aim by inches I pulled the trigger.  The deafening crack of the rifle filled the forest, momentarily replacing the silence of the forest. Then over the echo I heard the distinct whine a bullet makes when ricocheting. So basically this sound said to me, run.

Quickly I darted up and sprinted in the opposite direction of the camp. I heard a loud roar behind me which sounded like one of a Bears. Then like a demon from hell springing from nowhere to pull one down to the depths below flew past an orb of blue fire. The orb slammed into the tree infront of me and sent hundreds of shards of sharp splinters everywhere. The sheer impact of the orb hitting the tree nearly sent me off my feet. But after running through the wall of splinters I pushed on. I could distinctly hear heavy footsteps behind me and It felt like he was within arms length of me. Looking around quickly I saw what looked like a drop in the terrain.

I felt my legs start to burn as I ran for the drop, my body was wanting to slow down, but my adrenaline kept it from doing so. As I reached the hill I dropped to my side and slid down the steep bank. Just as I did so a large figure flew over the top of my head and crashed along the ground, rolling to a stop at the bottom of the hill. As I saw this I dropped my rifle and pulled out my knife. Getting up I ran down the steep hill building up momentum. The shorter beast was already getting onto its feet. Just as it stood up I leapt off the bank and flew towards the monster. As I slammed into the mass of muscle I drove my knife into its gut, going as deep as it could go until the handle stopped it. As the two of us hit the ground a savage roar erupted from the beast who threw me off.

I flew through the air, and rolled across the ground. I stopped myself, and quickly got to my feet. The beast was already up as well, it gave me a hateful glare as it placed its hand on the handle of the knife that was stuck in its gut. Then in one swift motion it pulled the knife out and tossed it to the side. Bright green liquid seeped from its wound as it took a broad stance and showed off its chest in a sort of intimidating fashion. I wasn't buying it though. Sure I might have pissed myself if it were one of the other beasts that were far larger. But for some reason not this one, maybe because it's just shorter. Slowly reaching behind my back I pulled out my shovel.

The beast let out a low roar and ejected its wrist blades. Quickly it then darted towards me. As it swiped its blades at me I quickly ducked and felt the blades graze the top of my helmet. Then taking my shovel I quickly hooked the two serrated blades by sliding the shaft of the shovel between them and pulling back. It staggered off balance and I took the chance by grabbing the fish net like mesh, letting go of my shovel, spun around, and jumped onto its back. Digging my jackboots into its back I grabbed hold of its dreadlocks and one of the mandibles on its face, a higher pitched roar emerged from the beast and tried to throw me off by grabbing my arm that held onto its mandible. But as it pulled and tugged I gave a quick jerk and broke its mandible. Screaming in pain it grabbed me and threw me off. As I hit the ground I wasted no time picking up my shovel and running at the beast.
