<summer starts now>"But mOoOoM, I thought we were going to DisNeYwoRLd foR thE sUmMeR" you whined, for the tenth time this week. This time, with you hanging on the side of the couch, hoping yet again, to change the situation at hand. Your parents had promised a summer vacation set at Disneyworld after months of convincing. Just the thought of riding on rollercoasters and eating delicious junk food felt like heaven. But things, as always, weren't going your way. An urgent business trip had come up for your parents and required both of them to go away for 2 months. All of summer. Which meant for you, that there would be no Disneyworld, or junk food. Darn it.
"Sweetie, I'm sorry but there really isn't anything that I can do about this." Your mother tried to explain to you. "Besides, Aunt Haewon will take good care of you. Her house isn't close so you'll have plenty of things to see and explore!" Your mother exclaimed, as if it was so great. You didn't want to explore a boring neighborhood, you wanted to explore Disneyworld.
You were still upset. They had promised you. And it took so much convincing for that too. "Sweetie, we'll go next year, okay?" Said your mother, trying to make the situation better. "Anyways, since your father and I are taking the plane tomorrow, Aunt Haewon will pick you up then, so go get ready and pack your stuff."
You walked up the stairs of the two story house and into your room. 'Maybe it won't be that bad, Aunt Haewon is nice.' You told yourself as you began to pack your clothes and necessities. When you were finally done packing, you decided to eat and watch movies until you fell asleep.
》next morning
"Rise and shine Y/n! Your father and I are going to be leaving soon so get ready to leave for Aunt Haewon's house."
You slowly rose from your bed, feeling like a zombie. But when you remembered that your parents would be leaving soon, you wanted to say 'goodbye' properly. You went to go take a shower and get dressed. Then, you went down stairs to say bye to your parents.
"Be good while we're gone, okay?" And with that, you were left in the house alone, waiting for your aunt to pick you up.
It wasn't a long wait but gave you enough time to eat breakfast and stuff. When you heard the doorbell ring, you answered quickly and had your luggage packed and ready to go. You weren't taking much with you so you only had dark navy blue backpack that you carried around with you everywhere and a small black suitcase. You opened the door and greeted your aunt. "Y/n! You've grown so much! I've missed you." said your aunt with a huge smile. Aunt Haewon was always extremely nice to you which made you smile.
After you loaded your belongings in the back of your aunt's car, she started the car and sped off from the driveway.
After the first hour, the car ride was starting to feel like it was taking forever so you pulled out your phone from the back pocket of your shorts and started texting your friend about how you were going to be 'away' for the summer.
You didn't have a ton of friends. Just a small group who you were extremely close with. You didn't believe in friends who couldn't trust you, and vise versa. To you, friends were the people to make memories with, the ones who lended you homework when you were absent, and always kept you smiling.
So here you were, in the back of your relative's car, being driven off to somewhere completely unfamiliar to you, hoping that summer wouldn't be a waste of two months.
<time skip>
"We're home!" Your aunt exclaimed in a sing-song voice once you arrived. The car ride had taken four hours but it seemed as if they traveled further than that.
You opened the car door and immediately you were surprised by how nice the weather was here. It was a little after 1:00 in the afternoon. The neighborhood was pretty too-- the houses along the street were very modern and people seemed friendly like they knew everyone that came around.
After analyzing the street for a bit, you walked inside your aunt's house. Well, this would be the house you were staying for the next two months so it wouldn't be wrong to call it 'home'. The outside of it was a simple brick-red and off-white color and the inside was even nicer. It had two-floors, even though it was only your aunt and uncle that lived here and the walls were a pale blue color. From what you could see, there was a ton of rooms, and a huge TV in the main room. 'Maybe summer won't be that bad' you thought to yourself.
Aunt Haewon walked up to the second floor and showed you your room. She went back down to start preparing to make dinner, even though it was still early. Inside like the rest of the rooms, the walls were still in its fine blue shade and in the center of your room was a huge bed, which you found very comfortable to lie down on. Then, you started to organize your things into the closet and realized that for a guest room, it was still really comfortable and neat. There was a bed, mirror, dresser, desk, and night stand, all painted in a friendly white.
Your aunt explained to you earlier in the car ride that your uncle was busy working but would be back later tonight and that he usually comes home late. You hadn't seen your uncle in a while, but if you were living in the same home for two months, you were pretty confident you'd get an opportunity to see him around. Your aunt also had a job but took today off to pick you up. She explained that she would be home in the early morning and came back at around 8:30 pm. Which meant a lot of time by yourself.
Once you finished unpacking, you heard a knock on the door, to which you replied with a "Come in." At least your aunt respected your privacy and knocked first before barging in. Unlike some people.
"Y/n, I really hope you enjoy your summer here. Your mom told me how you wanted to go to Disneyworld but I still hope you have fun here. There's plenty of things to do here! And who knows," your aunt paused before finishing- "Maybe you'll find a boyfriend here too," your aunt winked at you and left the room, closing the door on her way out, leaving you blushing a bit after realizing what she had just said.
