<segment three starting>

"I'm going out today!" You told your aunt. You were going to meet up with your new friends again. The aliens called Wanna One. Not actual aliens, but no actual human that you've ever met were like them.

You already had breakfast and it was still before noon. There was no particular reason that struck you to wake up so early. But being stuck in the afternoon of summer would be the death of you. You weren't prepared to die from a heat stroke just yet.

Wearing a plain white t-shirt paired with black leggings, your hand was nearing the door knob.

"Where are you going? When will you be back?" your aunt asked, you didn't tell her about the new group of friends you had made recently.

Aunt Haewon hadn't told you about going anywhere today or needing to venture out someplace else so your mind was set for a free day. But adults can't help but worry. It's their nature.

"Oh uh, I met some new people yesterday nearby the supermarket." With that, you quickly exited the house, leaving your aunt in confusion.

Now, off to the parking lot. Or whatever that place really is.

While walking, you decided to take a new route. There was more to see, and you knew it. Instead of the sidewalk path along the stores and shopping malls, you took a different path that seemed it was heading somewhat further from your original passage.

It was made of dirt, and as you walked further- less and less people were near. Since you had your phone with you, you plugged in earbuds and continued to walk.

With your music on shuffle, and no one around, you started to sing along quietly. It was peaceful. Until you heard a laughs that sounded like a dying whale.

Once you looked up you realized you were practically there already and could see eleven dorks straight up ahead. You walked closer and greeted each of them.

"Hey Y/n! Glad you could make it," said Sungwoon. This fool. You guys already planned yesterday that we would be meeting up.

Sungwoon took notice of how your earbuds were still plugged in and asked, "Whatcha listening to?"

"EXO's Been Through," you replied honestly. This song had you hooked for months. "Anyways, what are we doing today?"

Jinyoung smiled, "You'll see." Oh no. You often took it as a bad sign when people said things like that. No answer was more satisfying than indirect answer.

Without saying anything else, Jinyoung grabbed your hand and dragged you along with him around to the back of the building with the others waving both of you guys away. 'Uh oh. I don't think so.' You did not receieve some invitation to get dragged around places. You stopped walking, "Jinyoung where are we even going?" He sighed.

"Well, I was going to surprise you, but basically Jaehwan prepared something to do. It's not really a game-- just for fun," he replied. Well great― you ruined a perfectly good surprise. Jinyoung then continued to drag you along.

"What about the others? How come they aren't coming," you wondered. If it wasn't going to be surprising anymore, might as well ask some more questions.

"They're doing other stuff I guess. Today you'll just hang out with me and Jaehwan," Jinyoung smiled brightly. "This is the spot," and stopped dragging you. It wasn't until he halted that you realized he was holding onto your wrist while walking. 'This guy...'

If your guess was right, both of you were standing in the gap between two buildings. You made this assumption from the few steps of stairs connected to an exit door on the side of the building to your left.

Soon enough, Jaehwan came running out of the building with something in his hands. He handed one to Jinyoung, gave one to you, and kept the last one for himself. What kind of mess were they even planning? "Hold these still." Jaehwan ordered, pulling out a small box of matches. Quickly lighting all three up, you realized exactly what these were. Smoke bombs.

'I'm holding a firework. An actual firework. I'm going to die.' Fireworks were pretty and all, but from a distance. What was wrong with both of them? "GUYS I DON'T THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA."

"Come on Y/n, it'll be fun. I swear," said Jaehwan. Colors started rising from the top ends of the friendly firework. A beautiful shade of blue smoke started to form around him. Jinyoung's smoke bomb emanated a semi-dark shade of purple. And soon enough, you were being engulfed in a orange smoke as well. It was a breathtaking view.

You were frozen staring at the parade of colors

You were frozen staring at the parade of colors. Jinyoung took notice of this and felt enlightened. Something about seeing others feel happy, gave him some sort of happiness as well. "See? Told you it would be fun," Jaehwan blurted out. All three of you laughed.

While walking home, you thought about them― Jinyoung and Jaehwan. You started to think about all of them. Your new friends. It wasn't as if you knew all of them that well. But it felt like a good connection for now. Friendship is one thing that can't be replaced. It was special. And somehow even though it's only been two days― these eleven people were special to you. Truly and in every single way with all of their jokes and kindness.

Not everyone becomes closer the same way you do with people. But not everyone sparks friendships with smoke bombs either.
