Chapter 2:

Tori's POV:

I was walking downstairs when I stopped to hear why my brother was sobbing

"I know it's gonna be hard just try to stay calm for when tori comes down"my mother softly spoke to talan I couldn't hear much anymore so I decide to proceed down the stairs. I saw talan sitting at the dinner table bloodshot eyes and a tear streaked face. I slowly walked in to the dining room.

"What's going on?" I asked

"Honey I think you need to sit down"my mother spoke

"No tell me and then I'll sit"

"well your father and I had a court hearing for the divorce, he never showed up...I won everything and I was really happy it was his fault he didn't show up I didn't give it a second thought but then I got a phone call on the way home saying that your father was in a car accident and didn't make it he died on impact" my mother spoke

I just stood there completely shocked I didn't know whether to cry or scream so I did both. I collapsed to the floor as the world around me drifted away I was really close with my dad. My mom went to touch me and I ran. I ran out of the house and down the street I ran for what felt like forever. I stopped by a Ralph's realizing how thirsty I was I went inside and grabbed a 12oz Aquafina and went to get some ice cream. I saw myself in the reflection of the doors and almost puked my messy blonde hair was now messier then ever before, I looked like a raccoon with my eyeliner and mascara strewn about under my eyes and cheeks, I ran out of the house without shoes on and only had on yoga pants and a cami. I grabbed cookie dough ice cream and walked to check out. I went to a line that only had one person ahead of me and soon regretted it the cashier that was checking us out was literally perfect. His brown luscious hair flopped perfectly over his face and his big brown eyes were prettier then the most bluest ones I have ever seen, he had the whitest teeth and the most perfect smile, he was tall looked about 6'2 and was very muscular his name tag read Cameron.

"Hi I'm Cameron"he spoke

"H-hi I'm tori"I nearly whispered

"No way you like cookie dough ice cream?!"He asked

"Yeah it's my favorite"

"Well it's mine too"

I was admiring how perfect he was when he snapped me out of my thoughts

"$6.53 is your total"

Damn it I only had 6

"Um I only have 6"

"You know what don't worry about it you look like you've been through a lot"

That comment just broke me it broke me to pieces again. I started sobbing and dropped to the floor I couldn't stop.

"A-are u ok?!" Cameron asked

I didn't respond I just kept crying. He picked me up and brought me to what I assumed was the brake room. Wow he was really strong. He sat me down in a foldout chair and handed me my water. I guzzled it all down.

"Do you need me to drive you home?"

What am I doing I barely know this kid all I know is he's a really good looking male who's name is Cameron and he works at Ralph's.

"Um no I can walk thank you."I managed to say

"No please it wouldn't be a hassle I don't want you to walk. where do u live?"

"Windwards town homes" I said

"That's 3 miles and it's almost 9, I'll drive you"I had ran three miles? Wow I didn't think it was that far till he said it.

"Uh ok I'm sorry..."I said

"No don't worry about it. All you have to do is share some of that ice cream with me" he said

I wild grin stretched across his face. His comment had mad me laugh.

"Deal" I said

We sat there and ate the whole carton and let me just say it made me feel better ice cream was definitely the best medicine and maybe Cameron helped a little bit too.
