Sophie still remembers that night, she'd like to completely forget.
She came home from work and everything seemed as usual except for Charlotte's absence waiting for her in the living room. The house was in full darkness. She went upstairs to the second floor, kissed the little Armand that slept, and went to her room.
Except for the light coming from the lamp, her room was in complete darkness. She looked down at Charlotte, curled up in the corner of the bed and a feeling that something was wrong had taken over her.
"Is everything okay, Char?" she turned on the lights and saw Charlotte shrink into a fetal position. "Char, what ...""No!" the blonde shouted.
Sophie ran and knelt beside the woman on the bed and it was only then that she saw the blood on the legs and the sweater that her wife wore. "Oh my God"
"I'm in pain," Charlotte said crying, hiding her face.
Sophie still can not explain where all that self-control came from, but she held her wife by the arms and set her down."I do not know what happened ..." Charlotte barely had a voice. "I went upstairs and started bleeding. Our baby died, he died and I did not do anything ..."
"It's not your fault, is it?" Sophie caught Charlotte's face and gave her a tender kiss. "Come on, you need to take a shower""Mum!" Sophie could not hear her son. "Mama, green light," Arden gently nudged her. Sophie turned and drove her car. After a few minutes she left her child in the school and headed for her ex-home. This memory was haunting her as a shadow. She still could not get the head off the question how Charlotte had aborted.
When she stopped in front of the white door, she rang the bell. Nice music was heard inside the house. The door opened and she saw Charlotte. With a black blouse, a red coat, a black skirt and heels, Charlotte looked pitiful.
Her hair was raised, and the brunette smiled at her with black glasses on her nose. "Hello. How are you?" Asked Charlotte. Sophie smiled at her and said, "Very well, I hope you've packed your bags. Knowing when you pack your bags." Sophie folded her arms in front of her chest.
"They are ready. They are waiting in the living room," Charlotte replied, giving her the chance to pass. If two people walked along this corridor, they would both get stuck. Sophie came in with her right half of her body, and there was no way she could not touch her body with her ex's .
Sophie was the lady of hasty decisions. Despite what people might think, she is not always so.Only when it comes to her ex wife, then she makes all the hasty decisions and it never ended well.
Another child. She will marry the ex-wife again to adopt another child and then they will separate. The boys are right, it's something totally selfish. And how is she going to explain it to René? And for the child they'll adopt? What about Charlotte? Charlotte, her sweet Char. Sophie remembered what she said earlier about having tried with other people, but found no happiness.
That was a clear and spontaneous statement from her ex-wife to her, and Sophie returned it with total silence, or rather, repaid her by accepting Charlotte's proposal.
Charlotte sensed her perfume as she passed her. Despite all these years she still had feelings about her ex. Sophie slipped the suitcases and saw that Charlotte was waiting for her in the car. The brunette opened the boot lid and pushed the big fabric. Stand up behind the wheel and light the car.
"You can take off your glasses, it's not so sunny." Sophie tore the pleasant silence with her even more pleasant voice. Charlotte did whatever it was suggested. The car stopped at the traffic light. Sophie looked at the profile of the blonde sitting next to her. "You know, I've always admired your lovely eyes," Sophie smiled.
Charlotte felt a lump in her throat. She wanted to cry. The only thing that came out of her mouth was "Thank you." She kept her gaze on the road in front of her, did not want Sophie to notice. She just wanted to be able to admire the ex-wife, look at her without looking strange and how she did before giving her a kiss on the cheek and then the mouth and listening to Sophie complaining that she was driving and that they would have plenty of time when they got home.
She knew this would not happen, so she tried not to think about it.
"Can I turn on the radio?" Charlotte asked, avoiding looking at her ex-wife.
"Of course." Sophie answered without taking her eyes off the road.Charlotte reached out and pressed the button for the radio. In the car sounds the song of Lana del Rey "Cola." the song was interesting, but the end troubled а bit Charlotte."There was not such music in our time," Charlotte said. Sophie took a sharp turn to the right, and Charlotte had to catch her, not to fall. "Arden is listening to her, and another one with black long hair, who has been listening to her since the age of 12. You ought to know it," Sophie replied.
Charlotte looked at her, lazily irritated by these words, but Sophie was right. If it was not the divorce and the job she was going to spend more time with her sons.
