Chapter 35: Hope For Everyone pt.1

I spent the following two weeks with Enzo: I thought that my life was, finally, becoming normal.
Everyday in the morning I woke up with someone who hadn't thrown me a chair, or a pot, or whatever... He was just so sweet and kind.

It was a Saturday afternoon when I received a call from Marcel, and that made me think that something bad happeed. I had never had to deal with him, and all the experiences that my dad had with him made me think that the safest thing to do was staying away from him.

-Hello?- I said

-Kate? It's Marcel, your sister is born, Hayley's dead and your father is unconscious. We need your help- he was nervous and his voice was trembling, he was clearly serious and worried

-Wait, wait, wait. Calm down... What happened?-

-The witches... T-they killed Hayley and kidnapped the baby-

-It can't be. Where is my father?-

-Unconscious on the ground-

-Where is Elijah?-

-He is unconscious too. Please, I'm begging you to come here-

-Where are you?-

-I'm in the church with Nik, help me please-

-I'm coming in five minutes-

When I hung up Enzo was behind me, he slipped his hands on my shoulder try and said whispering in my ear -I'm coming with you-

-Enzo, they are the witches that knocked out Klaus with no problem-

-I can't let you go alone- he said kissing my lips

-I'm sorry but... It's my family business-

Lafayette Cemetery

I arrived at the Lafayette Cemetery in 10 minutes after the call. I entered the little chapel in the middle of the cemetery and the sight was ghastly, to ssy the least.
Hayley was laid on the rock table with her throat cut, my father was sat on the ground, his heart was stabbed with a metal pipe, and Elijah was some foot away from Hayley with his jacket, and his mouth, full of blood.
Marcel was the only one who was still conscious

-What the bloody hell happened-

-Your sister is born, the witches kidnapped her, they want to sacrifice her-

-Where are they know, I'm going to kill them all-

-Wait, stay here, they almost killed your dad and your uncle, they're too powerful-

-What is your plan?-

-Stay here and rescue them, I'm going to the church-

-I think I- but then he went away with his vampire speed -fuck it-

Marcel arrived at the church and ransacked all the archives looking for the weapons that could kill the witches, he threw everything on the ground in the heat of the moment, hoping for the witches to wait for the sacrifice.

When he thought he couldn't looking for them faster he found them, the Devil Stars, they were laid on the ground, covered under some books

I bit my wrist and put it in Elijah's mouth, after some minutes he held my arm tight and opened his eyes. He got up fastly and asked me -Where is the child?-

-I don't know, the witches kidnapped her. Marcel went to do only God knows what-

-Where is your father?- I pointed him with my hand

-He's fine, I rescued him-

-And Hayley? You rescued her too?-

-Uncle I'm...- I said hugging him

-It can't be-

-I'm sorry I-I tried everything I could but I didn't make it in time-

He left my hug and came near Hayley. He caressed her hair and kissed her. That scene was heartbreaking, I knew how he was feeling and that was the most awful sensation that a persin could have never felt.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, it was my dad. He had a blood tear on his mouth -I'm sorry- he spoke

-For what?-

-For how I treated you in these weeks-

-It's not the right time to apologize-

-I was compelled by Genevieve. It wasn't me-

-Klaus- I spoke and he froze, I had never called him Klaus after that he was pretty shook -Hayley is dead, three witches are trying to kill your daughter and Elijah is crying, do you really think that now is the right time?-

Elijah stood up from the ground and wiped his tears from his chick -we need to stop them-

-Brother, they defeated us once, they will do it twice with no problem-

-Do you want to give up?Do you really want to let your daughter die?-

-That's not the point. We are too weak right now-
