ESTELLA BENNETT ALWAYS KNEW SHE WAS DIFFERENT

ESTELLA BENNETT ALWAYS KNEW SHE WAS DIFFERENT. From the moment she entered the world, she was completely and utterly different. Born with the ability to change her appearance, Estella rarely went unnoticed.

Her strange hair is what caught everyone's attention. Even at a young age,  the metamorphmagus found herself overwhelmed with the constant awareness. It didn't help that her father was an acclaimed Keeper for Puddlemere United, a famous Quidditch team. It always seemed like all eyes were on her.

Needless to say, Estella grew up to be Edward Bennett's careful daughter. She never wanted the attention and avoided trouble at all cost. Though, it was harder than one would think with a best mate like James Potter.

From the age of five, Estella attached herself to the messy haired boy that lived next door.

Growing up with reckless James Potter was never easy, and when they entered Hogwarts, it didn't get any easier. Trouble always seemed to find them, or James would always find trouble and Estella would follow. With plenty of years of practice, Estella had become quite the honorary marauder; her courageous and cautious personality made her the perfect partner in crime. Something four certain Gryffindors would forever be thankful for.

"Oi, Stellar, are you even paying attention?" James Potter complained as he fanned his face. It was the hottest day of the year and the two Gryffindors felt as though they might melt onto the pavement.

Estella just barely glanced over at her best mate before answering,"Yeah, no. I zoned out again."

She watched as James huffed his chest in fake disbelief. He was sprawled out in a laid back chair by the poolside of the Bennett Manor. He wore a thin t-shirt, some shorts, and his hair messy, dark strands sticking to sweaty forehead.

"Everything I say is important, Bennett. You should be hanging off my every word."

"You talked for two hours yesterday about how enraged flobberworms make you."

"I stand by that. They are absolutely useless and I despise them, Stella." James shook his head with a disapproving look.

"What were you talking about before that was oh so important, then?" Estella asked, adjusting her denim shorts as she turned to lay on her side. She pushed her sunglasses up to the bridge of her nose before brushing her hair out of her face.

Estella was glad she decided to cut her hair. Her once long hair now fell just barely touching her shoulder and she felt more free than ever. At this moment, she was sporting soft pink locks, and she was loving it.

"I asked if you had heard back from Moony,"James informed her,"I haven't heard from him since the full moon, and I'm not sure if he is still coming tomorrow."

Estella smiled at the mention of their mutual friend. Remus Lupin was a fellow Gryffindor and one of the few people in their inner circle.

Estella met Remus Lupin in their first class, Potions. They had been partnered for the year, much to Estella's displeasure at the time; she wanted to be James' partner because he was always the more outgoing one of the two, and she couldn't help but feel awkward without him.
