Chapter five: Sleeping Beauty
"Pancakes!" Katie yells before hitting me with her pillow.
I grumble, "I'm awake okay?" I open one eye and look at her feet witch are directly in eye level.
"Oh com'on, get up sleepy head! Pancakes and co. have been waiting." And with that she walks out of the room.
Pancakes and co.?
I'm too tired to get up, so without another thought I close my eyes and fall back to sleep.
I'm sitting in an apple tree overlooking a beautiful lake, it's a clear blue sky and the lake looks like a glistening mirror. I can't remember how I got here or where I am, but I know that I feel happy. The birds are chirping above me and the leaves are rustling as someone moves beside me. I glance in their direction.
Brady?
He doesn't look at me, only staring out into the distance. His eyes sparkle with happiness and his smile is as warm as fire. He looks a little different, he looks older. I take the time to take in his beautiful features, his now strong jawline, his perfect pink lips, the freckles dusting his nose and upper cheeks and his smile. The smile that I love. I try and memorise every single feature. I could look at him all day. How can somebody be that beautiful?
I feel warmth and happiness surge through me that I'm the one that gets to spend the rest of my life with him.
That he is mine.
He turns and catches me looking at him and his smile somehow gets bigger. I feel myself blush as my eyes lock with his.
A little girl giggles somewhere near, her laughter echoing onto the lake.
Brady jumps down and offers his hand to me. I take it. His hand soft in mine.
I hit the ground with a jolt before being swooped up into his strong arms. He starts walking, my head resting against his chest, the sound of his heart beat drumming through me. I peak at where we're going, the cottage looming up in front of us and Aliyah running around chasing the chickens.
My legs sway as he takes each step. I look towards the cottage, but instead, standing in its place is a swimming pool.
What?
What happened to the cottage? And Aliyah? I blink a few times.
No, no, no, no, it can't have been a dream!
Wait. Someone is still carrying me. Uhmm.
I look up and the same face I was dreaming about stares ahead smirking.
I don't even consider the fact that he's heading towards the pool, only that his arms are around me and he's freaking carrying me! This for sure has to be a dream still.
I wiggle my fingers and pinch myself on my leg. I wince.
Ouch. Not a dream.
I pretend I'm still sleeping so I can enjoy being carried by him. The smell of his cologne engulfs me, he not only looks good but he smells good too. He could carry me all day and I wouldn't mind one little bit.
