A/N Here's the new chapter!!!

Josie's POV

"I. Can't. Believe. I. Won."  I spit through my teeth once I got home.  Now practically the whole school knew as well as the rest of the world.  Why would they pick me?

"You can just decline to go" Piper suggested.  She spun herself around on the spinning stool in my kitchen.

"I can't, my parents are forcing me to go".  When I had told my adoptive parents that I didn't want to go, they had given me an hour long lecture about how I should go.  "It look's good on a resume" or "It'll be fun" they had said to me.  It just sounded like they wanted to get rid of me actually.

Piper stopped spinning around on her stool.

"You can't go, I'll be left all alone" she practically wailed.

"I know, I'm so sorry, I wish I could take you with me.  But, if it makes you feel better, I'll be all alone too" I said giving her my best sympathetic smile.  What I really wanted to do was bawl my eyes out.  I wish Lance were here, he'd know what to do.  He was always the smart and clever one of our little group.

"I can't believe this is happening" I moaned.  We, meaning Piper and I, were at the airport.  My parents were too busy on errands to come, so Piper accompanied me.

"We'll always have each other" Piper said.  She held up her half of our best friend necklace.  It was a key that fit perfectly into my half, the lock.  Of course we could never unlock it because it needed 2 keys to be unlocked.  And that second key belonged to Lance.

She hugged me.  "Be safe" she whispered.  I nodded, "You too Pip".

And with that, I was gone, boarding my flight to England where One Stinking Direction were waiting for me.

*****

"Hi, you must be Josie!" A man greeted me as soon as I had picked up my luggage.

"Uhm, yeah, I am.  And you are?" I asked squinting at the man.  He didn't look dangerous.  And if he was, I could easily take him out with my years of training in kick-boxing, martial arts, and self-defense classes.

"I'm Simon, the One Direction's manager" he stated proudly holding out a hand for me to shake.  I looked at it for a good 5 seconds before I tentatively shook it.

"Come on." he said waving a hand towards the exit.  "You can get acquainted with the boys tonight during dinner"

"Fantastic" I muttered under my breath.

"Boys!  Come meet your company for the world tour!" Simon called once we arrived at a very big house.  It was huge. Three stories and made of marble.  A glimpse out the window showed beautiful landscaping and a crystal clear pool.

Five very good-looking boys then came tumbling down the grand staircase.  I studied them carefully as they all sized me up.

"Nice to meet you!  I can assure you we'll be best friends! Do you enjoy carrots?"  The boy with messed up brown hair and dull blue eyes said while hugging me.  I stiffened up feeling trapped in his hug.  I couldn't move, couldn't breathe.  Is that what Lance felt like 7 years ago when he was taken away?  I carefully pushed him away.

"I already have a best friend" I answered, trying not to sound cold or anything.

"Sorry about Louis.  I'm Liam" the boy with perfectly tousled brown hair said.  I nodded and mumbled a "hi".  At least this guy seemed normal.
