Alyssa opened her eyes with a soft moan.

She looked around her room to find people piled on the edge of her bed, some of them recognizable, others covered with cake or masks. Disco balls rolled around the halls, streamers laid over the lanterns, board games put all over the floor beside the hunk of popped balloons and broken beer glasses scattered all over. Her entire room was a mess of glitter, too.

She sighed, trying to recall last night's memories, before all this.

She was at Linda's place, after the homecoming dance for the Queens' match. She got a call from Blake and went to her house to find it a complete party mess. Somebody had brought a crowd to her house in mistake. Though usually, her temper would do her, she fell upon the pack to dance. Blake was on her fourth cup, nearly laughing to death with Ryan. She bumped into one of the team players, and they tried to flirt all over her... When she got out of it, she found a whole mess of vomit all over the carpet, and... and- blink- it was morning.

She looked around the place and drawled a slow 'ugh' sound and chugged herself with a cup of cola. She then got out of the bed and tiptoed to the kitchen to find Blake snoring on the coach, with Ryan sitting beside her- dozing. The Queens' team were sleeping with their hockey sticks in their arms like dolls for little children. She made her way to the bathroom at the other side of the house, trying hard not to trip over the pieces of yesterday. When she did, she instantly threw up in the toilet and washed her face in distress. Then she headed out to her front step.

She pulled her phone out to call her sister. Not long- she answered.

"Hey, loser." She said with her typical low tone.

"Hey," Alyssa grunted.

"What is it?"

"Stressed out."

"The hell?"

"Homecoming dance ended up to a home-destroying dance."

A sigh and a pause.

"You brought, the crowd to our house?"

"Yeah, no. This kid thought this house was his and-"

"Whatever. Did you break any of the two rules?"

"I think not..." There was uncertainty in her voice, since only half of her memory was alive.

"Fine. I'll call mom. But this is the last time you do this, k?"

"Fine. But I swear, I didn't-"

The call ended.

Alyssa sighed again- and went back in. If there's anyone who can take care of this, it would be her sister, Eliza.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

The next day, Sunday, the whole town rained, and it reminded Alyssa of home. Real home. Not this Haken City crap, but home- back in the villages in the valleys. Whenever it rained there, Her papa would come home with a cigarette, his drenched bus back in the small parking lot. He would hug her and Eliza- a firm hug, and blessed them on the cheek with kind, loving three kisses. Her mama would always get an extra two- five kisses in total. And oh, how she laughed with joy. To some spirits- rain was a curse, while to them, they cherished it. Happy that their trusty papa was able to return home early.

Alyssa shed a dry, invisible tear- in her heart. That was over ten years ago. Her content childhood. Her true life. Though now it was all gone. All had become dust- after the accident.

She covered her face with her slender hands, feeling so helpless. What if that life never comes back? Her eyes sharpened with fear, trembling at the thought. Her past would fall behind her, she hoped. She hoped.

The phone ringed by a simple key.

"Yes?"

"Hey, is this- Alyssa Crimson?"

"Yes, who is this?"

Alyssa tried her best not to sniff.

"Nick West. You know- "

"Who?"

She knew perfectly well who he was. Nick West, the Queens team star player. He was famous for his neat hair and hot ex-girlfriends. But priority number one, be sassy all time, every time.

"Queens team player- I uh, go to your school."

"Ah. That Nick West."

Alyssa's mouth slightly turned into an evil childish grin.

"Yeah. We met at the party yesterday if you remember."

"Go on."

"I thought maybe- you know- we could kinda hang out sometime."

"Really?"

She hinted a sarcastic surprised tone in the statement.

"Heh-yeah."

"I guess."

She shrugged as if he could see her through the phone.

"Yeah. See you then."

She didn't reply before hanging up.

She snorted shortly. Linda would love to hear this. However, she was too tired to call her. She lied on her sofa, backward, legs raised, and had her hair drop to the floor. Looking out the window on the other side of the living room- upside down- was a perfect opportunity to let everything slide away. She felt her blood flow in the wrong direction and made the world slide away from her senses.

She stared at the raindrops falling all over the window in front of her, feeling lonely.

Suddenly, names and faces flashed in her head.

Some of which were so precious.

But when it came to the name- Ethan, it stopped, and a flashback blared in her head.

"Alyssa." The voice was so warm and comforting; she forgot the rain.

"Ethan," Alyssa whispered under her breath. Her arm stretched towards the longing face.

Alyssa lost balance and fell to the floor. By that, the flashback broke.

Ethan.

Alyssa whispered again, staring at the ceiling.

She hoped it would all come back to her, even though it wasn't real.
