When Alyssa awoke from her sleep, sunk in her tears, she could see her window, and there was a vast land of wonder, the lazy gray clouds floating, and a few stars glistening through. There was no moon since it was only visible from the living room window. She rolled her eyes, ready to fall back asleep until she heard a shove from the living room. She opened one eye. Then she listened to another. She finally judged it was right to check at the window.

She lazily pushed the covers off and walked out of her bed. She then dragged her feet towards the living room window.

When she arrived into her living room and found it was not much but the vines and leaves that were brushing her windows, she sighed. Then, because of some reason, she looked up.

And there was the moon, glistening beautifully above, with its silver freckles shining onto her. Alyssa, awed by the view ran back to her room and brought her covers. It was something she used to do every night with her dad. At night, she and her dad would secretly go to the small balcony on the top of the house, connected to the attic, her covers on her shoulders, and watched the moon play with her stars. It was such a good memory, and somehow Alyssa didn't feel any pain from it, though it was related to her old life.. directly.

She sat down in the middle of the window sill and stared outside, the city at her feet, falling deep into the wonder of night. She suddenly pondered, what would her girlfriends at school think of her if she told them about this amazing sight? What would they say if they heard her pleasure watching the stars?

Probably nothing but shit-talking. They wouldn't allow that. They would think her crazy. They would say it would be better if she liked watching boys and watching.... Scream Queens or.... whatever. They'd blabber on, with not even a clue of how beautiful this moon is. Or, they might take snapshots of the scene. Hashtag Moonlover. Wow. She laughed at her own joke. She fell into sleep happily, on her living room floor, under the stars which she loved.

Morning, Tuesday.

Another morning, another school day. Organizing her ideas to talk with her friends kept her busy on her way to the place they are to meet.

"Alyssa! OMG, you gotta come here, right now."

Linda, like herself- started chatting off about the new makeup products the company sent her, as a sponsor. Linda's side job is an SNS star. She takes sponsors and advertises products with her sensitive sense of talking and her fab looks.

"She's been saying that for ages, Alyssa. Tell her to stop!" Blake looked annoyed and pushed Linda's face off her. Alyssa just laughed. She couldn't take sides. To be honest, the products sounded like a worthy one to buy.

"Okay, can somebody tell me my eye makeup today is the absolute beauty today?" Isabel asked, as usual, only staring at her phone mirror. Of course, her makeup was just perfect. Probably because she's from an artist mother and a surgeon father, she was great at it. And also with the help of a load of MAC products.

Alyssa's friends were all mostly from the rich guy's town. Especially Isabel. Linda's father was a high businessman in a company big as Apple, Isabel was wealthy by her grandfather's great sight on stock marketing. But Blake, well- Blake was an exception. Blake was from a ghetto town far from the school, though she is living in dopeness and considerable attention from boys, as a total icon of successful girls. And among these girls, was plain-ass Alyssa, just playing along. The main reason Alyssa is popular in school is probably- by her thoughts- because she was talented at making the mood, and had a pretty above-average face and body from swimming.

"Yeah girl, it does look nice." Linda approved, her eyes rolling.

"Oh, yeah! How did that night with Nick go?" Blake looked at Alyssa, her hands nudging her with quite a potent force.

Alyssa gave a sideways look. "Just somehow good. I told you I'm not that interested in him."

Isabel rolled her eyes. "Yeah, and he's a hottie. Wow."

Linda shook Alyssa. "You gotta tell me EVERYTHING. I'm not missing a bit of conversation!" She was overreacting, as usual.

And it was another Tuesday for Alyssa.

At school, Nick met Alyssa's eyes and laughed.

"We broke up quite soon yesterday, didn't we?" He said.

"Yeah, we did." Alyssa nodded, of course, she felt like she knew what was coming.

"So, uh- I thought we could hang out more often! After all, I still got that volleyball promise for you, huh?" Nick grinned the cutest smile, and Alyssa nodded again, her heart like a stone.

"So- can you tell me your phone number?" Nick asked.

"Sure... it's 010- xxx- xxx. Yeah. That's it." Alyssa replied.

"Uh, thanks. I'll see ya around!" Nick waved, his phone clutched so tight.

Alyssa turned around to see Blake and Isabel waiting with a very, very satisfied smile.

"Well well well. Look who got hunt down." Blake laughed, her eyes scornful.

"And at that, a guy like Nick West!" Isabel said, leaning onto Blake, making a scene.

"Girls?" Suddenly, a voice broke through the two satisfied girls, facing Alyssa. It was Ryan.

"Ryan! Sweetie!" Blake called, her arms already open, ready for a hug.

"Hi, Blake," Ryan said back, and had her hands on her hips, then kissed her forehead.

"Hi, Ryan." Isabel rolled her eyes again. She hated couples like this break 'friend-rules.'

"Hello, Isabel! And to you, Alyssa." Ryan winked, and Alyssa nodded. Ryan was a pretty special guy around here. He was good at almost everything. Flirting, algebra, science, singing, dancing, rapping, even simple magic tricks was easy for him. And because of that, he was a pretty high-class guy around here. Not a hottie, but famous.

"I just came to tell you that there's going to be a concert down at Western Haken stadium, the band club and me. You wanna come see?" Ryan asked. Ryan was also the club leader of the band club of Haken High school. "Cool!' Alyssa added, Isabel also interested in the idea. Blake, of course, was hugging him for real. "Yeah? I got front row seats for my ladies so that you can come today- about 5. okay?" Ryan said and bounded off with Blake. The two were such a great couple.

Alyssa looked away. Isabel nodded. "See ya then." "See ya," Alyssa answered.

She could feel something wrong coming for her.
