Claire Hart sat at her small desk, trying to finish her homework before the bell rang. It was only five minutes left and she didn't want to go home with extra work. Without noticing, her right leg began to shake and she kept tapping her pencil on her desk. Everyone around her noticed, giving her odd looks. Claire slammed her pencil down, her mind was filled with worries and nothing about her work. Something was happening and she could feel it. Claire held her breath, looking up. She could feel it, the urge of death. It was little whispers in her ear, telling her that death was coming. Claire picked up her things, escaping her classroom before the teacher could stop her. She wanted to know what this feeling was coming from and why it was happening. She walked down the empty hallway, not seeing anyone familiar, only a few students. She found herself in an empty hallway, hearing a familiar voice in the distance. Claire braced herself, she knew that voice. Lucas and Gage appeared in the hallway, stopping in their tracks when they saw Claire. Claire's lips were beginning to shake, and her body was feeling weak.
"What are you planning?" Claire quickly asked them, seeing the darkness that lingered around them. Gage looked at Lucas, wondering what she was talking about. "Don't lie to me, I know you're planning something," Claire said before they could speak.
"Where's Lyle?" Lucas rose his chin, wondering if there was anyone with her. Claire rose her shaking hand, almost stumbling to get words out.
"You're damned," Claire swallowed, pointing to both of them. "And so are we." Claire took a step back, finally putting the pieces together. "I could hear them," Claire huffed, trying to shut the voices out.
"Lyle, choose your next words very carefully," Lucas warned her, knowing what Anthony would do if Clarie knew their plan. Claire finally looked up, she could see this town fall apart.
"You can't," Claire shook her head.
"We can't what?" Gage asked her. Claire closed her mouth, quickly turning around and running to find Lyle and Nicolas. She would have to tell them, she would have to tell all of them. She could see the end of this town vanish before her eyes.
