Phil's POV
Honestly, I was quite shocked when my in-laws mentioned a house and that my parents knew about this. Butterflies started flying around my tummy, I was overwhelmed by excitement and anxiety. After finishing our drinks and treats Dil, Isabella, Dan and I got into the back of my in-laws Range Rover while my parents as Martyn and Adrian drove behind us. I wasn't sure what exactly I was expecting this house to look like and I was pretty sure Dan was as anxious as I was. The whole drive was filled with giggles and witty comments between the kids and us as if the whole being separated for a month and a half had never happened. Time seemed to fade away but reality soon showed its face again as my in-laws cheered that we had arrived at our destination.
The house was cute, definitely big enough for our family and probably more, it was beautiful. I watched as Dan's mouth dropped open as we got out of the vehicle, I moved closer to him and shut his mouth, he looked down at me in shock and just pointed at the place as I smiled and pulled him into a hug. Tiny arms wrapped around both of us, we smiled as we could pretty much tell whose arms those were. Martyn walked up to us and smiled, "Want to go inside?" Dan nodded. When we got to the door Martyn turned to Dan and me as Adrian smiled, honestly, I was scared because I thought someone was going to jump out of the bushes and throw a pie at us but that wasn't the case. Martyn slowly pulled something out from his pocket and handed it to Dan, it was a key! Dan and I quickly shot shocked glances at each other, then to our parents, then to Martyn and Adrian, who both only smiled and nodded. Dan's hand shook as he slowly put the key in and turned the knob and pushed open the door, only to reveal all our possessions and furniture had all been moved into the house. I turned towards Martyn with wide eyes as he smiled, patting my back.
"Welcome home," Adrian said.
I turned back to my parents and in-laws, their faces plastered with smiled, "I thought you said this house was still for sale?"
They all shared small glances before looking back at me, "We said it 'was' for sale. Past tense Phillip dear." My mother laughed through her smile.
I turned to Dan as he started to laugh, "I mean I guess it was pretty obvious."
"Dan," I smiled and nudged his shoulder, "you don't even understand what she meant, do you?"
"Phil, first of all, no, because that's not my job. And second remember, I'm not the one with the English degree here" he smirked, somehow I knew he would bring that up. My parents laughed as I playfully punched his shoulder and kissed his cheek.
A small tug snapped me out of my thoughts as I looked down to see Dil all giddy and bouncing up and down. "Can we show you and Daddy the house now?" his voice was soft, slightly cracking with laughter as I nodded. His small hand taking hold of mine as Isabella grabbed Dan's.
