I stood in the tomb, telling Stefan what Damon, Bonnie and I had come up with to keep Elena from coming her and-slash-or martyring herself over to Klaus to save everybody else.
"You trapped her in the house?" Stefan repeated.
"It's for the best," I said. "Trust me. Elena is on a martyr tear that rivals your greatest hits. You should be glad I'm not still pissed at you. I brought you this." I gave him the bag. "Care package: candles, lanterns and lunch."
I showed him a bottle of blood.
"Give that to me and I'm just gonna have to share it with her," Stefan said.
We both looked at Katherine, who was standing not too far away, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Yeah . . ." I trailed off.
"You two are surprisingly calm, considering Klaus will hunt you down and kill you if you mess with his little plan," Katherine told us.
"I've been dead before," I said. "I got over it." I looked at Stefan. "Once we deal with this moonstone, we'll figure a way to get you out."
"Don't worry about me," Stefan said. "Just make sure Elena's safe."
Katherine rolled her eyes, but I ignored her entire existence as I left.
And Elijah, still alive, apparently, had made a serious deal with Elena, who made sure that everyone she loved and cared about would be protected at all costs, and she even got his wtich to let Stefan out of the tomb, but Elijah compelled Katherine to stay in the tomb.
That was a very good thing in my book.
