I was walking up Elena's front steps, saying on my phone, leaving a message for Stefan, "Stef, you told me Caroline's dying, Jeremy tried to kill himself and now you won't answer. Tactless, Stefan. Call me. I'm at--"
From inside, I heard someone pushing someone into a wall, and Damon and Elena were coming up, Elena asking, "Kaylin, what are you--"
I held up my hand, Damon and Elena going inside of while I tracked the vampire from inside out before she disappeared, stopping Katherine in her tracks.
"Well, there's the last Salvatore I was hoping to see," Katherine said with a smile.
"What the hell are you doing here, Katherine?" I asked.
"Now, Kay, I know you hate me now, but remember when we had been best friends?" Katherine asked as she started to circle around me.
I started to circle around her. "That was before I knew what a big, enoenormous bitch you are, Kat."
Katherine smiled. "Hmm. Give Stefan and Damon my best."
She started to disappear again before I rushed toward her, pushing her against a tree.
"Go ahead," Katherine told me as she looked behind me to the two little kids in the street. "You try to kill me, I kill them."
I looked toward the two little kids, Katherine pushing me back right before disappearing entirely.
I exhaled in a huff. I had almost died tonight, and the tomb vampires had died, but now I had Katherine to deal with?
Damn, you gotta be kidding me.

I walked in the Gilbert family kitchen to see Stefan and Damon. "I lost her. She got away clean."
"Did she say what she wanted?" Damon asked.
"No," I answered.
"Well, she certainly knows how to make an entrance."
"She said, 'I fooled one of you, at least'," Stefan told us. "What does that mean?"
"She pretended to be Elena, too, when I showed I up earlier tonight," Damon answered.
Elena walked back into the room. "I told Jeremy. I can't lie to him anymore."
Stefan walked closer to her. "Are you all right?"
"No, I'm not all right. I thought that, with all the tomb vampires gone, things would get better."
"I know. We all did."
"Katherine was in this house. That means she's been invited in. What are we gonna do?"
I looked in her direction, tilting my head. "Move."
"Very helpful," Elena said sarcastically. "Thank you."
"Katherine wants you dead, there's zero you can do about it, you will be dead. But you're not, so, clearly, she has other plans."
"Right, and we need to find out what those other plans are," Stefan told us as Elena sat down. "And not provoke her in the process." He looked at Damon. "What happened tonight when you thought she was Elena?"
Damon took a long second to answer. "To risk another frown line encroaching on a very crowded forehead, we . . . kissed."
"And you thought it was me?" Elena asked.
"Oh, boy," I sighed.
"What do you mean, you kissed?" Stefan asked dangerously.
"Well, you know, when two lips pucker and they go:" Damon kissed the air twice.
