It was one day to Aphmau's party and I was FREAKING OUT. Garroth has been getting extra close to me ever since I stopped by Aph's plsce and asked her about my feelings and i'm so confused.
Dante's been constantly trying to ask me about my crush on Garroth that I NEVER confirmed to him and all hell is breaking lose, and Irene knows how long Dante will last before he spills everything to Travis, if he hasn't already texting him about it.
Kaitlyn's having fun with her so called 'last minutes of freedom' before Travis comes back from his trip by attacking us with paintball guns, setting trash cans on fire, and finishing a playlist of heavy metal rock to drown him out with.
And honestly, I don't blame her.
Too bad she thinks he's coming back in two months. Travis made us give him his word that we wouldn't say anything about him coming home early so he could surprise everyone at the party himself. Kaitlyn will...definitely be surprised. Just not sure if it's a good or a bad kind. Dante's betting on bad.
I've, on the other hand, have been spending more time at Aphmau's place recently practicing ways to confess to Garroth. Just in case I grow a pair in time for the party.
Don't get me wrong, it's not gonna happen...but a guy can hope.
She's been a big help, teaching me how to act a little more sincere, things that girls are usually into (even if Garroth isn't a girl, it's better than nothing), and anything else I might need to know. Hell, she even started naming nice places nearby to go out on dates to, and I don't even think he feels the same.
I hauled myself out of bed a little earlier today, minding my step as I avoided the more creaky floorboards. Aph wanted to meet up this morning to go over everything we talked about before she hunkered down and finished the last things for the Halloween party, so we agreed this would be the last time meeting before the big day. I was still shaking off my nerves just thinking about it.
I sucked in a breath, pushing as much of my worry to the side as I could, and climbed down the window and over the dense to the sidewalk.
I only had to knock once before a tired Kaitlyn swung open the door open and pointed upstairs, sipping whatever was in her mug. Her token token stare didn't falter for a second. "Upstairs." She huffed, readjusting the strings of her sweatpants as she turned and shuffled inside.
I was going to comment, but a yawn forced itself out of before I could speak. "Mind if I get some coffee?" I asked, quickly following behind her. She gave me a nice view of her middle finger and I sighed, walking into their kitchen and opening one of the top shelves to find the mugs.
...Who the hell need this many mugs?
They had a whole two or three shelves filled with mugs, all rocking a variety of different quotes. Most of them were just random stock quotes, but he recognized a few one-liners from stuff he remembers the others saying. He even saw a line or two of his.
I picked up the one if the blank ones, poured the last of the coffee into it, and walked upstairs to Aphmau's room. She was rummaging through boxes, detangling streamers and other Knick-knacks and placing them into a couple piles. I couldn't tell exactly how they were being organized, but by the bags under her eyes I felt I shouldn't be judging.
"Hey Aph." I called, taking a sip of the coffee.
Don't get be wrong, Kawaii~Chan makes good sweets, but god can Kaitlyn make coffee.
Aphmau turned around, holding a mug of her own, and took a long sip. "Kaitlyn's coffee?" She mumbled, just barely conscious. I nodded, slumping down on the floor beside her. "Why did I agree to come this early again?" I asked to no one in particular. She shrugged. "...To get away from Garroth?"
