(Yes I started his book on valentine's day, so-fucking-sue me)
I can't believe this...
I lost...
But how!? I'm fucking gorgeous!
How on earth did I lose to Aaron? I mean, so what if the guy had amazingly tan skin to combat his perfect muscular build, dark and mysterious, yet beautiful eyes, silky jet black hair, and that deep, calming voice...

Wow, I didn't stand a chance, huh.
I rolled around on my bed for a bit longer, debating Aphmau's news about going out with Aaron a few more times. There's nothing I can do about it now, but I still don't like it...This sucks. I decided to get ready later and just grab some food, but I could tell from Dante's expression when I stepped foot in the kitchen that I looked way worse than I originally expected. Maybe going downstairs as I was wasn't the best idea.
"Jeez Laurence, didn't know you were cast for the last season of the walking dead..." He commented, turning back to his computer. I rolled my eyes. There was no use bothering to look his way. "Wow Dante, great way to be a friend." I hummed, already making myself some coffee. "Hey, you know I didn't mean it like that!" He called from across the room. I sent him a quick look, raising my eyebrow.
He leaned forward in his chair, rubbing the back of his neck. "After all, you mean so much to me." He looked away nervously. "You know that..." A slow grin formed on Dante's face, letting only a hushed snicker betray his performance. I was too tired to laugh, and chose to simply pour myself some of the coffee, taking a long sip. "Sure you do." I groaned, turning around to face him. He furrowed his brows, getting up from his seat. "Okay, jokes aside, are you okay Laurence?" He placed a hand on my shoulder, eyeing me up and down. "I get that the rejection's gonna sting a bit, but you'll get past it, like always...Have you been getting enough sleep?"
I quietly shook my head and took another sip, immediately spitting it out all over Dante as soon as Garroth stumbled into the room.
"Coffee....need...coffee..." Dante and I screamed as he jumped into my arms. Needless to say I was not ready for the added weight, as I felt my back collide with the kitchen counter.
"OW! Dammit Dante, my ears!" I unceremoniously dropped Dante onto the hard tile floor. "What the hell?!" I groaned. He just gestured towards Garroth, still shuffling towards us.
It took me a minute to snap out of the overall shock. "Jesus Christ Garroth, what happened!?" I yelled, ears still ringing. He grabbed the coffee mug out of my hand and chugged the last of the contents, before finally looking me in the eye. Aphmau and Aaron's relationship hit us both pretty hard, but Garroth was had it bad. They've always been really close since high-school. I didn't blame him for reacting like this, but it still hurt to see him in such rough shape. "Hey, Garroth." I called. He had begun zoning out, eyes narrowing a bit. Was he still processing everything? I shook him a little, giving a quick look of 'help me' to Dante. Sadly, he didn't help in the slightest, only giving an awkward shrug in response. I yelled a bit louder. "Garroth! GARROTH!"
He finally looked back up, giving me a disappointed stare. I took the coffee mug from him and placed it on the counter. "...Garroth, you've got to move on. Aphmau's with Aaron now." I reached down and helped Dante up, before turning back to him. Honestly? It hurt to say it out loud. I felt a little better just saying it outright, though, and I could feel my spirits rise in some weird way. He was looking a bit better overall, too. Maybe the coffee?
