A Single Rose
Chapter 2

"Honey here let me take you're plate you're gonna be late if you don't hurry up and get going" my mother exclaims taking my plate and rushing me out the door contrary to my many protests.

I grab my phone and put my ear buds into a pocket in my backpack zipping it up while throwing my backpack over my shoulder.

I close the front door and slowly stroll over towards my car hopping in my front seat closing the door.

I place my backpack on my passengers seat and turn on my radio smiling happily when I see that piggy back by Melanie Martinez is playing.

I pull out of my drive way while softly humming the melody to the song smiling to myself remembering that today is my last day of school for a while.

When I make it to school I see my best friends Amanda and Allison. They were sitting on Allison's hood of her car so I pulled up in the parking spot next to them.

I honk my horn at them causing Amanda to jump of the hood of the car and yell a string of curse words at me while Allison doesn't seem phased by it all since I do this all the time.

I close my car door with my bag on my shoulder and my phone in hand while laughing at Amanda. "Awe I'm sorry Mandy but you gotta admit, that was a little funny" I say laughing.

"NO IT WASN'T!!!" Amanda yells playfully hitting me on the arm but soon laughing along with me and Allison.

"So, how do you guys feel about this being the last day??" Allison asks smirking while wiggling her eyebrows. Me and Amanda exchange glances then we all burst out laughing.

"Well I don't know about you 2 lovely people, but I'm glad because I hate this place" Amanda blurts out.

"I'm pretty happy because then I can start writing and singing again" I say smiling cheerfully.

I've loved to write since I was 11 years old and I've loved to sing since I was 1 years old.

My mom and dad tell me to this day that when I was younger I would sit in my car seat and hum along to any song that was on the radio.

Then when I was officially a toddler I started to actually voice words through my singing and I've been in choir class at my school from when I started kindergarten to now.

It's just something that can take away all my stress and place my mind in a peaceful serenity for a while where I have no worries or regrets.

"Yeah I'm pretty happy myself. In 2 weeks my brother Tyler finally gets to come home and spend a little time with us so that's always exciting" Allison says smiling wide.

Allison's brother Tyler went off to be in the military when she was just 5 years old and he's been in it ever since.

Although he is involved in the military, he of course still comes home often to see his family and you can tell his visits mean a lot to Allison.

Allison and Tyler are the only children in Allison's family so it gets a little lonely for her since she has nobody to hang out with.

I remember when all 3 of us were 10 we used to hangout every single day in summer and even have sleepovers here and there so she wouldn't be lonely all summer.

This summer though Allison and her family are going to Hawaii for a few days with Tyler since they haven't been on a vacation with him since his last visit which was about 2-3 years ago.

As for Amanda, she will be helping out our local animal shelter so she'll be quite busy as well but it's okay because I'd prefer to stay inside most of the time to write stories and such.

I actually own a Wattpad account that has I think like 125 followers and I've just recently started a new book. It's a fanfic because I'd you can't tell already, I'm a huge nerd.

I love to write fanfics and I've at-least written over 10 of them on One Direction, Fifth Harmony, Little Mix, Dan and Phil, 5sos, and many more.

My favorite stories to read on Wattpad though would have to ultimately be Fifth Harmony fanfics. They are my favorite band and they all hold a special place to my heart.

I always liked Lauren Jauregui because she was always my favorite out of the whole group. I've always wanted to meet her but have never gotten the chance.

"Well I hope everything goes okay with Tyler coming home and everything, I'll see you 2 lovelies later peace" Amanda said waving bye to us walking inside the school.

Me and Allison walk inside together and to our lockers. We get all the stuff we need and head to our first class which we have together.

Our first class is Science so we make our way down the long hallway and finally reach the door. We walk in and take our seats waiting for our teacher, Mr. Brent to start class.

The bell finally rings signaling class has started. I put my chin in the palm of my hand sighing while turning my head to look out at the beautiful sunny landscape out the window.
