Chapter 5

I wake up to to annoying sound of my phone going off. I rub my eyes while sitting up on the couch.

I look over to my left and see that it's completely dark outside out of the window. I jump and make my way out towards the kitchen.

I grab my phone off the island table and answer the call. "Hello?" I say groggily. "Hey I'm glad you answered, I was beginning to think you were dead haha" Allison retorts giggling through the phone.

"Haha haha very funny" I exclaim rolling my eyes in annoyance. "Dang what crawled up your ass??" Allison asks. "Nothing it's just, look I'm sorry I'm just well you know.." my voice trails off.

"Yeah I know and hey like me and Mandy said, even if we're miles apart-" Allison gets cut off by my sad voice.

"We will still all be connected by our hearts, I know you guys told me" I say as a single tear falls from my eyes.

"Hey if you ever need to talk M were here for you, okay?" She says sweetly. "Thank you Ali, I don't know what I would do without you girls" I say smiling wiping the tear from my cheek.

"We don't know what we would with our girl friend, we love you lots, if you need anything let us know" she says and I can almost hear her crack into a smile.

"So umm what exactly did you call for?" I say puzzled. "Oh yeah sorry I forgot!" She says laughing. I giggle to sitting back down on the couch.

"Well umm you know how I told you that my brother was coming home today and we were going to go on vacation together??" She says slowly.

"Yeah..What's wrong, is everything okay babes??" I ask worried.

"Well um something happened and our plans got cancelled so I was wandering if you would want to hangout with me tonight, I could really use your some support.." She says with her voice cracking.

"Allison, did something happen to him??" I ask scared that I might set something off.

All of the sudden she starts sobbing uncontrollably into the phone. "Maggie h-he is gone.." she says crying hard.

"W-what do you m-mean h-he's gone Ali??" I ask shaky trying to hold in my tears for her. "Maggie, Tyler passed away today. He was going to pick up boxes of cargo from the back of a military vehicle on the docks. He went to go open the trunk and he got shot in the back by a enemy on the other side. He fell and the paramedics rushed him to safety. They said t-they tried to save him b-but it w-was too late.." she says crying.

My eyes quickly fill up with tears and blur my sight. They threaten to fall but I fight them back, if I cry then she will see me weak.

I need to be strong for her right now. I'm all she has at this moment. "So you want to come over??" I ask sweetly.

"Yes please.." She says sadly. "Babes of course you can come over anytime you don't even have to ask too could have just came over and I would have let you in" I say.

"Thank you so much Maggie, you're a really great friend" she says. "Anytime Ali" I say smiling. "I'll be there in 10" "Alright let me know when you're here sweets" I say smiling.
