Chapter 6

I'm watching tv when I hear the doorbell ring. Already knowing who it is I mute the tv and get up towards the door.

I unlock the door and open it to reveal my best friend Allison standing there with a tear stained face makeup smeared everywhere. Her hair is matted together in knots and her bottom lip is quivering.

She has a backpack on with a sweatshirt with our school's logo on it paired with white short shorts and her white converse.

She is clutching on to a small brown teddy bear that has soft fur, black little glass eyes, and a purple little bow tie tied around it's neck.

That's the bear that Tyler gave her for her 5th birthday, she has had it ever since and says that while he was away on trips for the army and stuff that she would cuddle with it and fall asleep with it at night.

She can't go to sleep with out in her arms. It's like a comfort thing because it was the only thing she has at the time to calm her nerves.

But now, it really is the only thing she has left of him. Except picture and memories of him of course but it still hurts her, I can see it in her light blue strained eyes.

"Here, come on in." I say moving out of the way as she timidly steps inside as I close the door behind her.

I turn around and she is staring at me crying. I can see in her eyes that she wants a hug no, she needs a hug.

I walk over to her and wrap my arms tightly around her small framed waist as he immediately wraps her small skinny arms around my neck for support.

She sobs loudly into my embrace and soon, I start to cry as well. Out of me and Amanda, I was the closest to Tyler. I remember growing up with Allison and her older brother.

When ever I would go over to their house to hangout with Ali, Tyler would make sure to insult me a little it wasn't anything to mean, it was playful.

He was like an adopted older brother to me and I was like his adopted younger sister. He was over protective of me along with Allison and whenever I was sad, he'd comfort me by giving me a hug and telling me everything would be okay.

Amanda met him last year so she wasn't that connected to him emotionally. Even so, her and Tyler we're still really close and he treated her the same as me and Ali, with respect and love.

We finally pull away and she pushes her gaze down towards the floor.

"Hey" i say softly pushing her chin up to look in my eyes with my finger.

"You know you can stay here as long as you need you're always welcome you're like a sister to me Al" I say smiling.

"Thanks Mags" She says smiling. "Umm also, where is you're bathroom?" I giggle at her question.

Allison has been to my house countless amounts of times but somehow she always forgets where the bathroom is located.

"You turn around and go down this hallway, then you turn left and it's the first door on the right." I say giggling.

"Thank you" She says giggling starting to blush. She goes down the hallway and soon disappears as I hear the bathroom door close.

I huff and poop myself back down on the couch. I unmute the tv and start to eat my pizza again. I hear the door open and small little footsteps heading to the living room. I look up and Allison is standing there smiling at me.

I smile back and pat next to me indicating she can sit next to me on the couch. She take notice and quickly sits next to me.

I turn the tv up and place the pizza box on her lap. We both giggle and grab slices of pizza. I scoot back and my back lands on the back of the couch. Allison takes her left arm and wraps it around my neck at the back of the couch when I look over at her.

We're both smiling. Yup this is forever my best friend. I lean over on her right side and lay my head down on her chest and sigh lightly.
