Hermione wasnt all that excited to be getting married. She hated to admit that Ron wasnt the one she wanted to end up with.

"Hermione Jean Granger, will you be my wife?" Ron had surprised her with a proposal the exact time she was going to tell him they were done.

"Ron, I love you.." Hermione began

"Wait, are you breaking up with me?!" Ron was enraged.

"Im not happy Ron. You've become very controlling and it feels like my life is no longer mine."

"Imperio!" Ron yelled.

Hermione dove out of the way. Waving her wand quickly she bound him. "We're over!"

Harry and Ginny were shocked to find Hermione tear stained on their doorstep.

"Hermione! Come in. What happened?" Ginny asked.

"Ron proposed to me." Hermione answered.

"Isnt that what you always wanted?" Harry was confused.

"I dont know. I thought, but now im unsure." Hermione wrung her hands. She wanted to tell them about Ron knocking her about recently and his failed attempt to control her. But she held her tongue. She didnt want to ruin their perceptions of him even though he deserved it.

She knew Ginny and Harry would never forgive him and she didnt want to be the cause of it. Ginny lead her inside and brewed some tea for the hysterical woman.

After Hermione had calmed down, she reassured the Potters that she was ok and she was going to acept Rons proposal. She knew it was what everyone had expected her to do. She didnt want to break the mold like she did when she was younger. Ron had exstinguished the fire in her that had her always speaking her mind.

Hermione was done fighting a battle she knew she would loose. She hated the idea of begging for Rons forgiveness when it should be the other way around.

Nevertheless, Hermione summoned her Gryffindor courage and returned to Ron. "Ronald, I would love to be your wife. Im sorry, I just freaked out."

Ron grinned yanking the skinny witch to his side. "I knew you'd come around."

Hermione stifled a groan that she wanted to voice, but decided to suck it up.

The next day, the two went over to the burrow for the wedding details. Hermione desperately wanted to tell Molly and Arthur the truth about their son, but she couldnt do it.

"Hermione dear, whats that?" Molly asked pointing to a black bruise on her lower arm.

Hermione wanted to answer Ron, but wisely held her tongue. "Its nothing Molly, i just bumped myself."

Molly smiled in reply but knew the girl was lying. She didnt want to make Hermione uncomfortable. So she silently casted a monitoring spell on the girl to prove her suspicions. She knew Hermiones smiles were feeble, but she had no proof.

The young witch was well aware of the spells on her. So with one wave, they were taken off. She didnt want to be the reason why the Weasleys fell apart. Freds death almost destroyed the family as it was.

She felt it was her obligation to keep the already fragile Weasleys together. Returning to her parents house is where Hermione could go and realse her feelings.

She maintained her childhood home despite her Muggle parents erased memories. She kept it with a Muggle lawyer, and enacted the same spells they used while on the run. For max protection she added the Fidelus Charm and made herself Secret-Keeper. She returned home where Ron had begged his forgiveness. Using ligamency, Hermione relented and forgave him.

The day had come, the wedding of Hermione Granger to Ronald Weasley. Hermione revealed a weak, but radiant smile of being Rons wife. Only those who knew her for years would know dhe was faking it.

Ron noticed but as uaual feigned ignorence to the witch's feelings. Hermione made sure to really sell it since she made Ginny her maid of honor, and Harry as the one who is giving her away.

She gave an internal shiver when Ron put his arms around her. Her mind screamed at her to throw a curse at the man and run for her sanctuary. But her heart told her to stay and that Ron would return to tne sweet man she had fallen in love with.

She wished she had her Gryffindor courage, but sadly it disappeared with Rons love for her. She knew to be a good wife to him was not to defy any order he gave her.

The night before the wedding, Ron put a compliance charm on the witch so powerful, shed never be able to break it.

Yes on the outside she was glowing, but inside she was bawling her eyes out. She felt dead and no one knew. She felt like a coward, for returning to the abuse she knew would come later that night.

Hermione barely heard Minerva ask her for her vows. She smiled sweetly and read them off, but deep down she felt robotic. Wishing someone could save her from this.

"Hermione do you take Ron as your husband?" Minerva asked.

"I-I..." She wabted to say no, but her life flashed before her eyes life without Ron. No love, no friends, no where to live. "I do."

"Are you ready for a magical night?" Ron asked looking at her hungerily.

Hermione flinched but took a deep breath. "No thank you Ron, Id rather just cuddle."

Ron revealed an animalistic smile. "Now sweetie, you know you dont mean that."

Hermione nodded. "I was only joking Ron."

"I thought so." Ron got on top as their wedding night dissolved into unshed tears and screams of terror.
