Chaptee 19: A family Reunion

Hermione was nervous seeing her parents after 7 years of seporation. She trusted her mothers words, that her Muggle parents had acepted her role in the Wizarding world.

"Dad, its nice to see you." Hermione shrank seeing his expression.

"Hermione. We arent happy with what you did to us." Dan replied giving her a look of disappointment.

"I had to do it! You both raised me, and I had to ensure your survival! Muggles and wizards were dying and disappearing. I know it was cowardly, but you could have been tourtered. I wanted to spare you an agonizing death." Hermione said in a monotone voice.

"Come sit." Rose gestured to the couch.

Hermiones eyes narrowed, something had changed, all of them knew it. She sat straight up, as if ready to bolt at any moment. She had always envisioned this conversation with her Muggle parents, but now that she had it, she was unsure how to move forward.

"Hermione, what you did was terrible. When we went to Australia, we knew something was missing." Dan stated.

"Dad, Im not apologizing for saving you're lives." Hermione huffed standing up.

"We arent attacking you honey, but surely there was another way?" Rose asked.

"No! War forces you to make inpossible decisions. The two of you should know, being sent away for safety in World War I! Your parents had no choice, same as me." Hermione answered coolly. "I didnt care if you never remembered me, I only wanted you alive. Maybe that was a mistake." She took out her wand and twirled it btween her fingers.

"Hermione..." Rose said cautiously.

"No Rose. We cant pick up like eveeything is fine after 7 years of seporation. Its just.. too hard." Hermione took a deep breath.

Roses face turned pale, how did Hermione know what she was thinking. "What do you want then Hermione?" Dan growled

"Rose is the one who came to me. If you want a relationship with me, fine. If not, thats fine too. Thats up to you." Hermione replied firmly.

"Hermione, we want to be in your life." Dan said after a lomg pause.

"Come on, lets have dinner. Cant let you go home hungry now can we?" Rose chuckled.

"Ok fine." Hermione sighed coming into the dinning room.

"Why dont you take off your jacket?" Dan asked

"Dan, Im fine." Hermione answered tensing a bit. She hadnt put a glamour charm on the ugly scar Bellatrix had carved into her arm. She definately didnt want her parents to find out, not like this.

Her parents exchanged worried looks. "Hermione, what happened these past 7 years?" Rose noticed that the whoke tine her daughter was here, she hadnt shown them a true smile.

Hermione scoffed, "to sum it up, I went on a ride to hell and back again only to endure another ride to hell."

"Ok, now can you tell us the details?" Dan asked glancing at Hermione nervously.

"Greengrass, I thought you wouldnt come." Draco said surprised.

"Whats the big secret?" Daphane asked stepping into the house. She ignored Dracos comment about being a coward.

"Not yet, I need you to make the Unbreakable Vow right now. If not, theres the door. You can forget about getting any secrets out of me." Draco said firmly.

Daphane rolled her eyes, "you know I was shy at Hogwarts right? My close friends were Hannah Abott and Susan Bones of..."

"You were friends with the badgers?!" Draco gasped.

"I became friends with the Gold and Silver and trios after 4th year. You just never noticed it. You saw what you wanted to see. After I became good friends with Harry, he helped me get out of my shell." Daphane explained.

"So, are you ready?" Draco held out his hands.

Daphane embraced Dracos hands in hers. "Yes, lets do this."

"Elsa!"

The house-elf appeared.

"Bind us to the Unbreakable Vow." Draco ordered.

Elsa noded her finger at the ready.

"Will you Daphane Greengrass swear to listen to my explaination without inturruption?" Draco asked.

"I will."

"Will you Daphane promise to not judge my family harshly on what you hear tonight?"

"I wont."

"Will you swear not to tell a soul besides Blaise what happened here tonight?"

"I promise."

"And not breath a word to anyone about this secret until I choose to? Afterwards you will be allowed to tell pwople you were aware." Draco added.

"I promise."

"Do you promise not to tell anyone you made the Vow with me?"

"I promise."

The moment the binding finished, Draco turned to Elsa. "Send Emma in here."

"What, who is Emma?" Daphane demanded.

Moments later, the young teenager came in. "You wanted me Draco?"

Draco smiled, "Daphane, Emmas the reason why I was in Scotland. She had to be enrolled into Hogwarts."

"Ok...." Daphane waited for more.

"Because Emma is my little sister."

After the inital blow up at the Grangers, Hermione stayed very quiet, refusing to look Rose or Dan in the eye.

"Look, I had best get home. Dad will be worrying about me, and I have work tomorrow." Hermione got up and was about to leave when,

"Hermione, Im sorry. Its just goimg to take some getting used to." Dan said quickly.

"I know, Ill see you soon, bye." Hermione spun on tbe spot and vanished.

"Daphane, please say something!" Draco pleaded after 5 minutes of stunned silence.

"Just...how?"

"Mum had an affair with a Muggle behind Dads back. She had no idea she was pregnant until it was too late. She hid it well from Father because he was too occupied being a Death Eater to notice. When Emma was born, Mum sent her to live with her Muggle father. She only came overseas because Scorpius and I are her only remaining family." Draco concluded.

"Interesting."

"My eyes almost bugged out from my mums letter. I already ran a DNA test and it is correct, Emmas my half sister."

"Have you told Hermione yet?" Daphane asked

"About Emma or me?" Draco asked.

"Both." Daphane smirked.

"I told her about Emma, but not me." Draco replied

"Why not?"

Draco sent a meaningful look at Emma. She nodded and left the room.

"We have a lot to catch up on.
