Chapter 18: Catching Up

"Emma, wake up!" Draco whispered urgently.

The young blonde opened her eyes to find her brother in his Dr. Swann disguise. "Is it time to meet the Headmistress?"

"Yes, now get dressed. You can waer your Ilvermorny robes." Draco smiled as he became his true self once more.

Emma grabbed her wand and waved it as her robes of gold and cranberry appeared over her tied together by a golden knot.

"How did you learn that?!" Draco asked surprised.

"Ilvermorny taught us a few nonverbal spells, but this was the first time I was ever able to do it." Emma blushed. She grasped her brothers hand as the two turned away.

"Hermione? Are you ready?" Harry asked knocking on the office door.

"Yes Harry, hold on." Hermione replied putting a file away. She stood up and took his hand.

"Want to eat in Diagon Ally or Hogsmead? Ginny is begging that I give her and the twins some space. I became a helicopter boyfriend." Harry laughed.

"Im not picky. I heard Minerva hired you as the new DADA profesor. Are you nervous?"

"A little. I know I taught all of DA, but never have I taught a larger group of new witches and wizards." Harry said truthfully.

"Harry, all will be fine. Minerva will help you. Dont forget, she has belived in you all along." Hermione replied.

"I know, but I hate leaving Ginny all alone." Harry sighed as the two grasped hands and disapperated.

"Ah, Mr. Malfoy, right on time." Minerva McGonagall looked up from her stack of parchment.

"Hello Professor." Draco replied revealing a small smile.

Emma remained behind Draco, peeking out shyly.

"Hello, you must be Emma." Minerva smiled.

"Yes ma'am." Emma replied.

"Hmm...lets see cranberry and gold. Based on your acceent, are you from Ilvermorny?" Minerva asked

"Yes I am. Draco here has been very helpful. Thank you for letting me attend this school." Emma replied

"You are more than welcome. Since you are enrolled, lets get you sorted. This isnt like Ilvermorny where a statue picks you. Once I place this hat on you, will we know the house you belong to." Minerva revealed a thin smile.

"Im ready." Emma answered.

Moments later, Ah another Malfoy! Though ambitious and cunning, you prefer to be brave, loyal and intelligent. But where to put you. Sltherin would suite you lineage, but not your personality. Gryffindor is too bold for you, you prefer to fade into the background. Hmm...although loyal and hardworking, a badger doesnt suite you either. You belong in...

Draco sighed in relief. "Amazing Emma, the sorting hat took 4 minutes with you. I only needed a second."
