The girl sat with her cheeks flushed with highlights of gold, hair that laid across her shoulders with a lingering scent of salt and the sea. the busan sun that had tanned her sun-kissed skin was blocked off by the coverage of one of the multicolored parasails that dug into the almost-white sand. she still felt the glow of the sun, as it swept through the parasail and enveloped the bare parts of her skin. crystal blue waves rolled out to the sand, the waves crashing upon each other sounding in the air. chatter from fresh graduates filled the air, conversations of careers and futures carried by the breeze.

Song Hyosun laid on one of the white and blue beach chairs, her body kissed from the afternoon glow as she watched the sea. she wasn't foreign to the crashing noise of the waves, nor was she foreign to the salty air and sand that stuck to her skin. the busan beach was her second home.

the day was warm as if it wanted to give the graduates a warm welcome into the world after high school. the sun gave the sky a glow that encased everyone's bare skin. hyosun was soon bored of watching the waves she grew up with, so she shifted her body and dropped the book that was laying open over her bare legs. her eyes as dark as a steaming shot of espresso scanned over the shore, overlooking small groups of friends who were celebrating their graduation. she slipped off her shoes and sunk her feet into the sand, enveloping herself into the feeling of the small grains trickling over her manicured toes. hyosun saw the rest of her graduate class spread along the bay, some cheering and some basking in the summer sun glow.

she strolled slowly through the sand, enjoying the sensation of the heated sand wrapping around her feet. without realizing, she ended up sitting on the sandy bleachers, among others who were cheering on the beach volleyball game. her eyes drifted to a particular boy who stood on the other end of the court.

Kim Taehyung stood at the edge of the court, ready to play as he pulled his hair back with a bandana, his roots revealing the natural color of his dark hair. the boy's eyes sparkled with mischief and playfulness as they scanned the crowd on the bleachers, his iconic box-like grin forming as he locked eyes with seo hyosun for a split second before she averted her gaze, trying to distract herself from the blush that was spreading across her cheeks.

the boy also had sun-kissed skin, his features adorning a glow that matched his charming persona. his sharp features made him stand out in any crowd, his bright personality being a bonus. throughout the game, hyosun would catch herself staring intensely at the boy; at how soft his hair looked, at how his hands looked so nice, at how his chiseled jawline seemed sharp enough to cut skin. he wasn't very broad, he was quite lean, but his body had such an alluring physique - and every time she did, she deflected her gaze to the other side of the court, where her best friend- Jung Hoseok, was playing. she tried to focus on the boy's freshly dyed hair that shimmered under the summer sun, bursting with the color of tangerines. hoseok was one of her closest childhood friends along with six other boys, including taehyung.

her eyes drifted back to the highlighted hazel mop of hair that bounced with every step that he took. his legs took off, sending off a wave of sand and dust behind him. the girl sat at the edge of her bleachers, not noticing the volleyball spinning near her. she snapped out of her trance as someone yelled, her body sliding across the plastic bleachers, her shorts dragging aside her. the moment soon came when taehyung came digging for the ball, his arms stretching out- veins rising up his arms, hyosun's eyes voluntarily traveling all the way up to his slightly revealed biceps. the ball was saved as he fell onto the sand, the cloud of sand and dust fading slowly. the boy rolled onto his back, stared up and grinned- god his smile made her melt under the sun, at her as she stared back with wide eyes.

"hey hyosunnie~"

she loved the beach.
