It was funny, parked in the corner of the movie theater lot was Luke's car. It wasn't so they could get out and have a great time. They had nowhere to go, that was their fun date.
In the back of Luke's car, rested Luke and his girl- Zach. His legs were scrunched up, arms wrapped around her, both of their eyes on the same little screen. Zach's iPad mini that was strapped to the backseat of the car, playing some random movie that she picked from Netflix.
Their legs remained intertwined, her body remained close to his, a warm blanket covered the two, and his head stayed beside hers. Although he had a face full of her hair, he didn't mind. He long ago gave up the fight to let himself breathe; he felt sorry for moving around too much.
As the horrible movie that would have probably been better if two teens made it came to an end, the car was silent; the only sound heard was the small background music played as the credits rolled.
Luke's tired eyes momentarily struggled to stay open as he pulled away from her, slightly sitting up.
Zach was asleep, and he didn't want to wake her. She was peaceful, happy, quiet, and unbothered; Luke admired the beautiful sight.
As Luke began to push her hair from her face, he then placed one kiss after another on her cheek- a gentle way to awaken the sleeping beauty.
Within just a few seconds, a smile cracked her face, her eyes shut tighter, a whine left her mouth, and she barely wiggled.
"Let me sleep," she protested, although, he didn't have to say anything for to argue against him. Honestly, he was going to make her get up either way.
"I have to take you back home; it's late. I don't want any questioning for you, the movie is over, baby. Gotta go home."
Zach's face scrunched up as she shook her head. Even though she started to speak, she was interrupted by yawning as she rubbed her eyes. Then, she relaxed and showed Luke a lazy smile.
She thought he was pretty. Little did Zach know, Luke thought she was really pretty too.
Her hands dove to pet his face and ended in his hair. "Can I go to yours?" She asked, her face now softening.
As Luke thought for a moment, his arms grew tired. Even though the six-and-a-half-too-tall-male didn't fit in the backseat with her, he moved his legs around hers, and then sat down. Zach's arms dropped to overlap on her chest, and she placed her legs on his lap.
"Will you get in trouble? Can you tell your parents that you're at a friend's house?"
Finding that she wasn't comfortable enough, Zach sat up and wrapped her arms around Luke. Well, tried, Luke was a very big boy.
"I don't think it'll matter that much, I just really don't want to go home," she whined, pouting her lip before continuing, "I've been feeling sick lately, and every time I complain, my brothers just tell me to drink water."
"How caring," the man playfully rolled his eyes. "What's been wrong? Do you want me to get you anything?"
She didn't reply. Instead, a smile appeared on her face. This man was far too sweet for her. She doesn't need a family obsessed with her well-being, Zach has a Luke. Seeing Zach so cheery made Luke feel the same exciting feeling, she loved the smile on his face.
She liked her Luke.
"Why do you want to take care of me?"
Luke was taken back by the answer. If he were honest with himself, he was unsure. The man lives alone in an apartment and has what feels like the most depressing job. Maybe he just wanted someone to love or was just desperate to show affection.
"I care about you and love you."
Luke hated clichés, they always seemed so unoriginal and predictable. They were probably in the most cliché situation, though, a teacher and a student loving each other.
