Before you start reading I would just like to give credit where it is due. The idea for this novel was not solely my own. My very close friend @JaneDoe786 and I were struck with an amazing idea for a book one morning in Mathematics and well this is what it turned out to be. I'm super excited and hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it!:)

Soo, comment + vote + fan!

If anyone has any constructive critcism, I welcome it with open arms!

Enjoy:D

P.S. @JaneDoe786 is now my full time editor and advisor. She also happened to co-author this first chapter and might co-author a few more in the future too:)

Chapter 1

 James

I drew my hood tighter around my face, trying not to be recognized by the few drunks shuffling along the pavement nearby. I sighed inwardly and looked up at the slim strip of smoky black sky that squeezed its way between the two vampire exclusive apartment buildings on either side of the alley, wondering if even the sun could filter through the sickening smog that hovered above London.

Walking hastily through the puddle riddled alley ways of my home city, London, thousands of thoughts raced through my head.

Today was the day that I would send a clear, cold message to the vampire cult who called themselves the "Fibonacci Family".

For thousands of years the world has been plagued by the abominable vampires, self-titled "The Creatures of Light". Hilarious isn't it?

We humans have been forced into the shadows to live our lives in fear, praying that we or our loved ones would not become someone's meal.

But things are going to change. I will make sure of that...

It all started 500 years ago. The vampires had ruled and governed over everyone for millennia. They were faster, stronger and outnumbered us drastically.

And so as the population of vampires in the world grew denser, human beings were becoming a novelty. You see, the problem is that a bite from a vampire does not automatically make you one yourself - it kills you.

Vampires in the real world do not have the ability to "turn" others into monsters. They aren't undead. In fact they are very much alive, a fact made even more apparent after they're killed. They just breed and multiply like rats in a sewer.

Millions of humans had died, falling prey to thirsty leeches, before the vampires realized that soon they too would perish if their food source ceased to exist. They approached with an olive branch and fanged smiles and proposed a treaty.

A vaccine was to be created by the most esteemed scientists of the time, both human and vampire, that would make a human resistant to the venom in a vampire's bite. In that way, vampires could feed and humans could live. How generous of them.

But something went wrong.

Up until now no one knows whether it was a faulty strain of the vaccine, pure genetics, or some sort of conspiracy theory, but some humans reacted to the vaccine quite differently to others.

Yes, their bodies were able to fend of the deathly kiss of venom, but venom itself had other unexpected effects on them.

When venom entered these individual's bodies they would be granted the abilities of a vampire for an hour or until the venom burned itself out of their system - everything from super speed to super hearing. They could see better, smell better, do everything better than before. They were as strong as vampires, as fast as vampires, but after the hour, the effects would wear off and they would be completely human again.
