The Final Return

World was ruled by shallow minds,
Humanity not a word. Cruelty a weapon.
Hope and faith slashed by whips of insanity.
The people agitated, crowded in an up rise.
They preached of peace,
They taught of peace,
They heard of peace and learned of it too.
But where was peace?
The books spoke of it too,
But nobody could still find it.
They looked through maps. Still blank.
Now they didn’t know where peace was.
They searched wide and far.
Wide till they lost hope,
And far till they lost faith.

Peace was the trapped bird in the gilded cage,
Possessed by the power, far too treacherous.
Its wings tied down by heavy chains
Of expensive silver, that was never dreamt of.
The sorrow? The pain?
Only left for Peace to know.
Caged in gold. Tied in silver.
It’s worth already branded.
Peace tied. Justice ruled.

The strangling hands of justice,
Reached far enough,
Only for the poor to suffer
And the rich to corrupt.
Nothing right for the supressed.
Nothing wrong for the wicked.

Then the day came,
When peace could fly, spreading it wings
Far and wide.
Covering the world in its soothing embrace,
But, there were none to see,
It’s reassuring smiles.
None to see,
It’s triumphant return.
None to see,
It’s enticing flight.

But Peace, stood still;
Silently waiting.
Silently waiting.

I have taken a lot of liberty with this one. As naïve as my view points might be, I will stick to them.

Most of us are spectators. We watch on as the convoluted games plays on. Pity really.

Can we change or will we remain slaves to a system that never truly gave us a sense of freedom?
