Sherlock's P.O.V.:
I was sitting in my chair reading a book when John came back from the supermarket.
"You took your time." I said still looking at the book.
"Yeah, I didn't get the shopping."
"What? Why not?" I asked rising my head to face him.
"Beacause I had a row, in the shop, with a chip-and-PIN machine."
"You... you had a row with a machine?"
"Sort of. It sat there and I shouted abuse. Have you got any cash?"
"Take my card." I said and nodded towards the kitchen, where my card was.Well, this was amusing. I could imagine him fighting with a chipping PIN machine in the middle of the store. It made me smile a bit. John headed in the kitchen but stopped and turned around to face me:
"You can always go yourself, you know? You've been sitting there all morning. You've not even moved since I've left!"
Not quite right. When John left somebody paid me a visit with an intention of killing me. Nothing new to be honest. So no, I was not just sitting here. I was fighting a murderer that an angry client sent. Of course, I said neither of this out loud.
"What happened to that case you were offered? Jaria diamond?"
"Not interested." I said closing the book, and pushing the sword that was left here by my visitor under my chair, so John couldn't be able to notice it."I sent them a message." If you can call beaten man 'a message'. Well, it was either him beaten or me dead.
John left again and soon returned with bags full of groceries.
"Don't worry about me, I can manage." He said climbing up the stairs. I was reading an e-mail that has been sent to me by my old college colleague. He works in a bank and they had a break-in, so he needs my help. John looked in my direction and asked me:
"Is that my computer?"
"Of course." I replied.
"What?"
"Mine was in the bedroom." I said while typing the reply to an e-mail.
"What? You couldn't be bothered to get up? It's password protected!" He shouted at me.
"In the matter of speaking. It took me less than a minute to guess yours. It's not exactly Fort Nox."
"Thank you" John said closing and taking a laptop from me. He sat in his chair and put laptop on the floor beside him. I put my hands in praying position under my chin and stared in front of me. I heard John taking the papers from the coffee table that was standing next to him - bills. He looked at them quickly, then laid them back where they were and said:
"Need to get a job."
Probably more for himself but I replied:
"Oh, dull."
He stayed silent for a moment, and then spoke again:
"Listen, um...if you'd be able to lend me some... Sherlock, you listening?"
"I need to go to the bank." I said, stood up, took my coat and left, knowing that John will follow.
