When John woke up and saw (Y/n), in her pyjamas of course, cuddled up to a pillow under a thick blanket and with a steaming cup of tea in hand, he was a little surprised. This was a rare occurrence ever since her and Sherlock's fight, but hearing her joyful 'good morning' and seeing her smile, he presumed the two finally made up.
"Good morning. Thank you." He smiled back as she handed him a cuppa as well. "I wasn't expecting to see you."
"I hope it was at least a present surprise." (Y/n) giggled.
"As always." John smiled back, taking a seat in his chair and sipping his tea.
"We finished the case last night."
"Really?" John raised his eyebrows. "So, how did that play out?"
(Y/n) jumped in to explain everything, keeping it brief but enough for him to get a hang of what happened. After she explained how Sherlock figured out the code, John's eyes widened and he let out a quiet whistle.
"You'll have to help me write about it for my blog!" John said once her story came to an end.
"Of course!"
"Do that and you're not allowed to come here anymore." A groggy voice from the kitchen made both of them turn their heads in its direction.
"Morning, Sherlock." John said.
"Morning." Sherlock greeted back, all while yawning, so it sounded more like 'mownin''.
"I made you tea, too." (Y/n) said, pointing at the coffee table beside his armchair.
"Oh, thank you." He took it and, much to John's and (Y/n)'s surprise (especially John's), Sherlock made his way over to the couch and sat next to (Y/n).
"You're blushing." Sherlock stated, trying to hide his smirk by taking a sip from his cup.
"Shut your pie hole." (Y/n) said, hiding her face in the blanket, making Sherlock laugh.
While (Y/n) was trying to hide form everyone's sight and while Sherlock was having the time of his life teasing her, John was shifting his eyes from one to another as if he was watching a tennis match with players on steroids.
"So," he carefully spoke up, drawing their attention, "you two are fine again?"
"Oh, more than fine." Sherlock said.
"More than fine?" John asked, not quite believing his ears and eyes.
Sherlock looked down at (Y/n) and John knew they were having one of those silent conversations they used to have regularly before the whole Irene Adler fiasco. They seemed to be back at it again, much to his delight.
"Yes." They said in unison.
"That's fortunate." He commented. "We were all slowly becoming annoyed by your little quarrel."
"Oh, shut up, John." Sherlock hushed him, causing an amused smile to form on doctor's face.
"Don't worry, I'm leaving for work in a minute so that obstacle should be out of the way before you can say 'I'm an idiot'." John joked, slowly standing up with a quiet groan.
"You're an idiot." Sherlock paused, staring John down. "Oh, look! You're still here."
"Sherlock-"
"Alright." He groaned, not letting (Y/n) go any further with her scolding. "Apologies."
"Don't worry about it. It's rather amusing - seeing you back at being childish and not angry all the time." He threw his best friend a shit-eating grin as he came over to (Y/n) and kissed her cheek, earning himself one in return. "I'll see you later. Maybe we could go to that bookstore you wanted to go to?"
