We watch as the boat comes closer until it stops. We can see a rowboat being lowered. It's all we can do to make sure the children don't go crazy from excitement as we want to do the same.
"Someone has to tell Cassie to get up here," Lucy says. "She's the leader.... I don't even know what I would say."
"She won't leave the battle," Mary replies.
The row boat hits the water.

"Back out of the woods!!" I yell. "We're too vulnerable!!"
It's the truth, with the trees and brush the Savages have the advantage of numbers, on the beach we won't have to worry about trees or creepers.
We run away from the boys, dodging this way and that to avoid spears if they throw them. They are right on out heels. We reach the beach and form a line against the boys. It takes a few moments to realize that they aren't going to attack.
I turn and see a naval officer on the sand.
